No matter how you do, it is a triumph of major proportion! The personal victory no one (Other than Earl) there will know, but will be the smile on your face, and the extra GRUNT in your lift. I personally am so freakin proud of you, both of you are an inspiration to me.

I am glad she's ok. Just wanted to check!
Keep up the butt kickin'! Today is my max bench workout...my bench shirt came yesterday, so I am going to put it on and see how much I can get out of it. I would be happy with 30 pounds...so we will see how the training and the shirt are gonna work together!
Next Saturday is the competition.... I am getting nervous already...

Oh I know...
I went too long... 10 mins in a 10 min bed...quite by accident..I dozed off... I am a slow tanner, I have a very light complexion, and I use tanning lotion, but it was like nirvana in there...ahhhhh
So, I am fine today, going to go back and do the 30 minute bed for 10 mintues...I need to even my sides out.
I am gonna throw the aloe in the fridge, you all convinced me!
We have a pool, and I am a sun goddess too! I don't even care if I get in the pool, just give me my lotion, a chair, a towel and a good book and I am set!

Thanks, it kicked my butt, Kristie is ok, she just has to rest much more, and has to let herself take a day off here and there. She is still getting in 2-3 days a week of lifting though.

Hey Michael (that's my son's name!)
How are you?
Earl already posted, that's my hubby...my name is Valerie...nice to meet you. I will say I mostly agree with Earl, except one teeny tiny thing... and if I knew he was doing it I would have b*tched at him about that too ~ hey what can I say? It's in the wife's job description~
DON'T take 4 Flintsones chewables. Two is good. Earl....
You can actually get toxic from too much Vitamin A that's in them if you take more than you need. I know your digestion will be altered, but 2 is sufficient. They most likely will only have you on them for a couple of months. But taking a good multivitamin is a must. You won't be getting any of those with your intake the first few weeks, so they have to come from somewhere.
I would make sure you have a good protein drink, some unflavored whey to add to anything you can and get your water in.
I lost a lot of muscle mass at first, but I am finding that I am really building it back up quickly. My strength is really coming back like gangbusters. I train 4 days a week (powerlifting) and Earl trains...well...he trains when he is not working or sleeping... so basically all the time!!
As long as you make sure you get your protein in, move your body around as much as you can post op...don't over do it that doesn't help anyone, you should be able to maintain a decent amount of muscle.
Good luck with your surgery Monday! Go enjoy the weekend, and don't look at it like it's a death sentence and the "last meal" kinda thing... just enjoy what you can, because after you lose the weight, you are gonna enjoy life more than you ever knew possible!
BIG HUG!
Val

I tanned just before my friends wedding last year and turned into a lobster.. normally I never burn and just get dark.

You really need to be careful even in the tanning booths especially if you have not have had any sun exposure. You should only do a few minutes at first depending on the stregnth of the bulbs. How long did you go for? Matter of fact you should be using bronzers and self tanners.. or a mystic tan!! Bad girl.
Cold Aloe rules! Also, I am sure I will probably tan again at some point too. I love the sun even though I know how bad it is for you.
I'm sure I will live in a bathing suit all summer especially once I start to drop weight and feel a little more comfortable in my body. I love swimming, the ocean, beach, etc. Grew up just a few miles from the beach in New Jersey. I use to go surfing with my brother, Adam.

I feel pretty good about what I kept, and am now able to build. I think the Curry's might have an opinion, being more involved in lifting at their surgery they may have noticed loss. I was a couch spud when I had WLS, I was past the point of being abl;e to do anything but work 13 hours a day. I still had a lot of muscle (I am just that way), I have not kept to the recommended protein intake, but even so, the first few months it is impossable not to lose some muscle, you are lucky to get in 500 cals per day. Good luck, read old stuff here, we used to ponder this much in the early days of this board.
Stick around Mike
