Lol.. Sounds like fun! If I were to drink I'd be going for the black & tans or cosmo's. Only another 16 months to go until that day! Ya.. I am counting down the months! Watch - by that time I'll probably go and get pregnant and have to wait another 9 months.

Yep.. exactly what John said. I'm sure it will help a lot. Also, if you do end up needing plastics you will get a better result if you build some muscle and reduce your bodyfat as much as possible first. Good Luck!

Tony, We all started there. You will get your strength back. It just takes some time and patience. Just get into it slowly and remember that you need to take some days off the let the muscles heal. You may need to add additional protein to your diet to repair the muscle. Good Luck and keep us posted on your progress.

Well I finally went to the local fitness center for my first workout since surgery on 10/13/05. It was pretty much just a one hour orientation with the manager, but wow I am sitting here typing with my arms trembling! I can't believe how weak and out of shape I am! I can't wait until tomorrow to start in ernest on my own, this is the second part of my new journey. Tony 327/248/???

Welcome Clay, Nothing is better for loose skin than lifting. Cardio will help you loose the fat......but weight training will help you fill the void with muscle. Good Luck.

Hello everyone! I WLS on 11-1-05, and I am doing great. I have dropped 80 lbs, and feel much better every day. My exercise got off to a slow start, due to lots of blood loss during my surgery, and severe anemia for a couple of weeks after. Now, I am picking up the pace with my walking, and I am starting to look at lifting to supplement my exercise program. My current plan is to increase the walking for 1 more week, and then alternate lifting/walking days. I would love to work both into my routine in 1 day, but I haven't worked out the logisitics yet. My biggest concern is managing my excess skin. I am hoping that diligent walking and lifting will prevent the need for plastic surgery to address excess skin. I am 37, and my skin elasticity is not what it was 10 years ago. This looks like a great board, and I look forward to keeping in touch here. Clay Stribling
