Topic: RE: Alright who's working out today!!!!!
Q,
I have a 3 day split
Day 1 legs
Day 2 chest, back, abs
Day 3 Bicep, Triceps, shoulders
Finish up with 15 to 30 min of cardio. On my non lift days, I rest or do some cardio.
Two days a week I attend a Yoga class (Monday & Friday)
Today is a non-lift day. I ran 4 miles...woo hoo
Topic: Alright who's working out today!!!!!
I break my workouts in to A Days and B days.
Today is A day " chest, back, triceps and abs"
B day consists of "shoulders, legs, biceps and abs
I start every workout with 60mins of cardio on the treadmill followed by the weight work. John i know you like to get your cardio in at the end. But for me i think this is a carryover from the first week after wls when i was only allowed to do cardio for 8 weeks.
Peace, Q.
Topic: RE: www.FitnessJournal.org
Yep - I use www.fitday.com when I track my workouts and eating. Key word here is "when." I don't always track because it makes me feel like I am being too obsessive compulsive. These days I just do it when I need to get back into a routine. Actually now would be a good time to start. lol
Best part about Fitday = completely free. Plus you can add custom foods. I have all different types of proteins and staple foods I eat entered. They also have their own library of foods with all the nutritional labels and values. I also like the free text journal section on fitday. It does give you the ability to make your journal public to others too. The reports and stats are also a nice feature. Good graphs, etc.
Fitday really isn't as exercise focused like you site. It is more nutritional focused. It does have an activities section that can be found under the activities tab. You just pick the general activity you did from a drop down menu and it gives you some info on it. Once you add it to your day it will show you percentage of calories burned for basal, lifestyle, and activities/workouts and gives you a total calories burned for all. In the free text journal section you could expand and add more specifics like instead of just adding weight lifting for 30 minutes and running for 30 minutes you could get more specific on reps and weights.

Thanks "Q"
It looks like you had a good workout. It looks like you did your weight traning after an hour of cardio. I could never do that much cardio then weights. I like to do my weights first....and finish with cardio. Welcome and keep us posted on your progress.

Topic: Turkey Trot
As I posted earlier to Stayce, I ran in a 5 mile race on Thanksgiving. I then plopped my butt on the couch for the next 3 days....not really. I kept busy shopping, putting up lights etc. Today, I got back in the gym and did a killer back & chest workout. I did lots of cable work and dumbbells exercises. After the weight training, I ran on the treadmill for 15 minutes. Then I did an hour of yoga. I am pooped.

Sounds like yucky conditions. Congrats!!! That is a wonderful accomplishment. My Thanksgiving was interesting. We spent most of the night in the Pet ER with the dogs. A contractor that was here for our apt complex was doing a pest inspection and left his duffel bag out on the floor open and full of poison. The dogs ate it all. I guess it smelled good to them. They are ok now after 2 trips to the vet, lots of throwing up, and IV fluids, along with other assorted treatments that cost us almost 1k in bills. Hopefully the exterminating company will follow through and make good on the promise to pay us for all the costs. I'll be talking to the either today or tomorrow. So Turkey day was pretty uneventful. We slept in since we were in the ER until 3am. Then I cooked some nice WLS friendly foods... all sugar free and for the most part very healthy with lots of good protein. Used some ideas from our WLS support group.
Both of us are off Monday & Tuesday so hoping to spend some good QT together. Last night we went to the movies and saw Harry Potter =)
