I ran for 30 minutes outside with a bit of soreness still. Actually I think I did more brisk walking than running. My heart rate was just getting up into the 140's from walking up hills. I ran on the downhills which probably wasn't that smart since it aggrivated my shins more. When I came back I did some crunches. I'm doing a 2nd session tonight after work. It will be at the gym. Going to do 20 - 30 min of light - no impact cardio on the arc trainer and also lift. My husband and I also decided that we would invest in a YMCA membership since we no longer get our free gym memberships. That way I can start swimming immediatey in the indoor pool.

Topic: Hey everyone... Newbie workout needed...
Hi yall... Just wanted to stop in and get your thoughts on a new work out routine for me.. I had my surgery last week and doc has cleared me back to the gym.. I'm walk 1.5 miles each day, gradually building up more distance.. But I also want to get into weights... I'm down 24.5 lbs since surgery and now weight 351.. I'm 34, no health issues, no arthritis or joint issues to speak of.. I know my way around a gym, but I've never had a good resource to pull on for information.. What should I start with? Where do I begin? I have good excercise tolerance at this point, but I also realize that lifting my own weight is not the goal, repetitive motion is.. Anyone have any first month workouts they care to share?? Chipymunk

Great job Tammy. Lol... I remember one day my mom was being really cruel and said I looked like a linebacker. It was when I had gained a lot of weight. I think today if she said that I would take it as a compliment!

It has not been easy, however after escaping an abusive marriage 9 years ago, my children and I were blessed with one of the best gifts God has given us. My husband, James T. Bond. He has come into our lives and turned it around. We were wounded birds that he helped to nourish back to health. He has given his life to making our lives better and in that has struggled to keep a roof over our heads. In the last few months he entered the body for life competition in hopes of providing better for our family and reaching people through our Christian film ministry. He has made it as one of the final 15. Now we're standing in prayer for him to win. I have never met a more giving person and I'm not sure that I ever will. We need all of your prayers as well as your votes. Please stop by and vote for my hubby his name is James Bond. 2 days left to vote, and you can vote once per day however you can Pray as often as you can. bodyforlife.com/challenge/vote.asp?voteId=1 bodyforlife.com In just 12 weeks: Before Weight: 201 lbs. Body Fat: 19% After Weight: 185 lbs. Body Fat: 5.5% --Lost 28 pounds of fat. Gained 12 pounds of muscle.-- He has motivated me and our children to get on track with fitness. This was no easy thing...lol Pray for us as I do the same for all of you Pray for me as I do the same for all of you pammy
