Ok, I will remind you how good it feels to work out on a regular basis,..... but I also take a few weeks off several times a year. Life gets in the way. Nothing is wrong with several weeks off. When I do get back into it after a long break, the body is well rested and responds very nicely. I wish you the best of luck getting back into it.

It has been weeks.. not days.. but starting to be a string of weeks that I have not worked out. Sometimes it is due to pain but not all the time. I can't keep using that as an excuse. I am so out of touch with my routine. I need to get back to it despite the fact that the weight is coming off anyway. I miss the gym.. I really do.
It is back to basics for me.. I don't expect to go back to lifting 3-4 full body workouts and cardio 6 days. I need to set some doable goals and work back up again. I walked the dogs tonight with my husband in the brrrrrrrrrrrrr freezing cold. That was the first step. As soon as I get up in the am I am headed over to our apartment fitness room and I am going to do some HIIT cardio.. 20 minutes.. that is my only goal. If I feel a little better I will do more. My week goal... do that 4 times this coming week - NO EXCUSES... BREAK IS OVER!! Please kick my butt.. I need a good butt kicking. Remind me how great it feels to work out on a regular basis. I want to be strong again!

Mark, Listen to Earl. There are so many weight training scams out there. It all gets down to old fashioned hard work. Good luck....BTW...if you have money to blow on exercise stuff...just send it to me...

I have got rid of the music, and have switched to audio books. I find that I get lost in the story I am listening to and forget all about what time it is.
Sometimes, I get so wrapped up in the story, that I do not want to stop exercising, just so I can keep listening to it. I only let myself listen while I am exercising.

Man I feel like I need to go back weeks and work my way up to today, lot's of new faces, and did I see that right? DID I SEE VAL POST? YAHOO, I will work my way up, so get ready for current posts to old threads. Finally got the gym set up how I want it (I think), garage is still mostly in boxes as well as the house, but f*@k it, the gym is set up.
Here is me:
Seated Cable Row - wide grip: Set 1: 15 reps @ 70.0 lbs | Set 2: 15 reps @ 70.0 lbs
Barbell Shrugs: Set 1: 15 reps @ 100.0 lbs | Set 2: 15 reps @ 100.0 lbs
Cable Standing Biceps Curl: Set 1: 15 reps @ 45.0 lbs | Set 2: 15 reps @ 45.0 lbs
Alternate Heel Touches: Set 1: 90 reps | Set 2: 90 reps | Set 3: 70 reps
Stability Ball Weighted Crunches: Set 1: 15 reps @ 15.0 lbs | Set 2: 15 reps @ 15.0 lbs

Sound like it could be a hernia. Yes, I had one....and kept working out....At my one year anniversary, the doctor fixed it with some mesh.(surgery) As long as it does not hurt, there is no problem. The only problem is if it stays out and gets "strangulated"....pretty rare occurrence...if that happens you need to get to hospital

Melissa, I agree with both of these previous post. I just want to add that if you add music, reading or television to your cardio, it will make cardio seem shorter....dont look at the clock!....in fact take your masters stuff to the gym ....and kill two birds with one stone...If you notice...we like to kill birds around here
