I can't wait for nicer weather and camping! I'm in Oregon, and it rains all spring, but thats not gonna stop me! My daughter and I are going in March for spring break, but I think It'll have to be cabin camping, too wet for tents!

Our place of choice in July is Nick's Lake.  We have been going since we were babies and now my brother and I are carrying outt the tradition.  How nice this summer will be when I am 100 pounds lighter!  :-)

Hi Wendy- I haven't had a chance to camp as much this year, but I am hoping next year will be better. We go to Grapevine Lake, one of the last FREE camping spots around here, a lot. I have also done some camping on a deer lease of a family friend. Then I got REAL adventureous and climbed (well tried to) Wheeler Peak (in NM) and camped on the side of the mountain. BRRRR. 15 degrees at night. In the spring we are planning on hiking/camping on Guadalupe Peak. We are also going to get the State Park Pass this year, so we will be hitting those spots as well. Hi all!! Just got home from a fun filled weekend with sons scout troop at the cub-o-ree. It was a fun time when the scouts camp for the weekend and show the dristrict cub scouts (on Saturday) what the boy scouts do all year. Games, rope bridge, cooking, archery, sling shots, klondik derby races. It all ends with a 105 foot rain gutter ice cream sundae for everyone to enjoy on Saturday. Last year cub scouts are invited to sleep Saturday night with a scout troop to get to know more about the troop that they may cross over to in February of the next year. I always enjoy camping with the scout troop because it is boy led and us adults are around for adult supervision. It rarly comes to the point that we really need to be involved to do much of anything. Just a time to enjoy the scouts and get to know them, they run the show rather nicely!! Shortie
