Carousel park is hosting haunted camping. The camp site is monitored by NCC police and there is a local radio station that comes out during the day and plays music and games. There is also a hay ride that takes you around the park at night. it is a lot of fun for people of all ages. Best of all it is free!!!
Topic: We just camped for 3 days
Had a great 3 day camping mini vacation. The weather was great and the kids actually helped this time. Did a lot of walking and riding our bikes. I am scheduled for surgery 10/17/05. Trying to keep my mind occupied. I can't wait to camp next year. I'm sure it will be a lot easier than it is now at 290lbs.
Hope everyone gets a fall trip in I think they are the best time to camp.

No big deal girl... LOL! From the look of your profile we have a LOT in common! We must chat!
Please let me know how your camping expierence goes... I just love it and wish we had time this summer to do it more often. Although I am hoping that our next duty station is in Colorado or Washington so we can camp all year long!!! YEAH! Folks around here just don't camp like yankees!
BTW- LOVE THE CHAPS!!! And the leather/ren shirt outfit... HOT!

I know this is a way old thread, but i'm camping for the first time post-op, and am psyched. I hope to be able to set the tent and stuff up without assistance, and to keep up with everyone else! I'm hoping for some long hikes in there too, which I couldn't do last summer
Thank y'all for sharing camping stories and stuff...

Topic: RE: Anybody camping in NC?
We use built up Suzuki Samurai's to off-road. Our event is a 4 day gathering of 150 or so trucks and over 300 people hitting the trails in Uwharrie. It's a real blast, but you gotta like crawling over rocks and going through mud - although most everyone that comes has a full roll cage so there's not much chance of any harm to anybody. We've had a couple people roll over, always going real slow, worst damage has always been to their vehicle. I really enjoy it, we just bought me a rig in February and I can't wait to get it up there!! And getting together with so many people is fun, lots of people to hang out around the camp fire with to chat. Plus, Uwharrie is really beautiful, as you know. I love going up there, getting away from all the daily bull and just enjoying the outdoors.

What is an off-road event? 300 people, that is a lot. Tell me more.
Thanks for your reply. Always here. Glad to hear from you anytime.

Me husband is co-founder of an off-road event held twice a year a Uwharrie. We camp at group camp at the events, usually have around 300 people there. I'm not sure when we'll get up there again just for a weekend to camp without all that work and commotion, but we try to go once or twice outside of the event to relax.
