P.S. My year + long absence has NOTHING to do with my WLS, or my type of WLS. See my profile.
I know he's seen an eroded ring, but ask if he has seen a "flipping ring".
"What the heck is she talking about?"
A surgeon drew a pic for me. One of my friends had vomiting for 7 yrs after her Fobi type RNY. But her ring had not eroded. WHAT?
Apparently, the ring can sit in the correct position for all UGI, scopes, any other tests, but when eating, it flips from horizontal to nearly vertical, thereby closing off the stoma. But then it flops back down into position, invisible to diagnosis.
In her case, she revised to DS, stopped vomiting, got down to ideal wt and is happy as can be.
BTW, her original surgeon would not see any of his surgical "problems", even tho the fix would've been fairly easy if tackled early on.

I am two years out still with feeding tube. My Bariatirc surgeon wants to do explatory laporscopic surgery on me because I do not want a reversal. Has anybody had the explatory laporacopic surgery and what came out of it?
I woke up with pain in my left side, around the left towards my back, and above the stomach area (left rib cage). Of course it would be the weekend so I can't call the doctor and the hospital is 3 hours away. I'm just wondering what it could be? Any ideas? I haven't had problems previously, and was feeling really good until this morning.

a good whey can be shaken in water, but that's flavored.
one of the plain or natural ones can be added to food. it disappears. You might not find this with soy.
Mixing it with milk just repeats what you're already doing--adding sugar.
It's your tongue, but if you'd prefer savory over sweet, try a good whey that has no texture or flavor and mix it in with something soup or brothy. Don't know what you're allowed, so some put it in cottage cheese, for example.

I've had my vitamins, about 1/4c. sugarfree jello, and some water. The only other stuff I have to eat is broth. I'm starving hungry and this stuff is just making me sick.
I don't want to end up in the hospital though, so how do I get anything down? Is it ok to put protein powder on everything?
Once you try these NOW, then you can prolly find better pricing on line.
Are you getting in some water?
Milk is mostly sugar, so that's why it tastes sweet to you.

No one said "Hey, your best friend is food and you're never going to eat it again!"
You seriously don't realize how important food is until it's too late.
I'd rather die fat than feeling like I'm starving and have a horrible taste in my mouth and just the thought of Sugar Free anything makes me nauseous!
I tried my skim milk w/ protein powder but it was too sweet also.
It seems like anything I do is making me sick, even SMELLS are making me nauseous. I have to keep brushing my teeth because the icky taste is making me sick.
Does anyone else have these issues?
What can I drink that isn't gross and sweet but still have protein/calories??
I don't understand why all the focus is on protein either....if you're having trouble getting anything down, wouldn't it be better just to get SOMETHING down? I read about people who are actually being hospitalized and put on feeding tubes for this exact reason, but no one tells you what to do when you CAN'T eat! I'm already starting to regret doing this, maybe it's just because I feel so crappy and alone too. My mom and sister haven't even called to see how I am, no one came to the hospital, etc. I'm feeling hormonal. i cried earlier today just cuz I felt so ****ty I just wanted it to stop.
Last week we released two major updates. First was the public release of OH Groups where any ObesityHelp member can now create their own Group. Second was the addition of Activity Tracking to Health Tracker, which provides a robust and easy to use tool to track and monitor your exercise and activity. Today we have added My Meals and an Activity vs. Weight Loss Report to Health Tracker.
My MealsMy Meals allows you to group and store multiple food and beverage items as a custom meal that can be used over and over again. If you have meals that you eat on a regular basis, you will no longer need to log each food item individually. |
To access My Meals, go to your Health Tracker in My OH and click on the Nutrition tab. You will see My Meals listed under Nutrition.![]() |
Creating a new meal works similar to your Food Log. You can search for food items on the right and add the foods to the meal on the left. A Calorie Breakdown chart and Nutrient Summary Label are also available for each meal.![]() |
Once a meal is created you can add that meal to your Food Log from My Meals by clicking "i had this" or you can search for the meal from your Food Log.![]() |
When searching for a meal to add to your Food Log, all meals will be returned when "My Foods" is selected in search. So, to "drill down" on meals that you have created, select to only show "My Foods." When a new meal is created it may require up to 30 minutes for that meal to be indexed and become searchable.![]() |
Activity vs. Weight Loss ReportAdding to the Macronutrient and Export Reports previously available, there is now an Activity vs. Weight Loss Report. This report will allow to compare Average Time in Activity vs Weight over time, providing you with further insight into what impact physical activity as on weight loss and weight loss maintenance. In Health Tracker, click Reports and then select Activity vs. Weight Loss. |
We hope these additions to Health Track reduce the time required to log your daily food intake and makes it easier to view how physical activity impacts your weight. Create your first meal now! If you have any questions, comments or concerns about this release, please post them on the Main Message Board. |
