Topic: Any complications after VSG?
Hi, just wondering if anyone has had any complications after VSG?  Big or small, I would like to hear them.  Thanks!

Topic: Could this be GERD?

Having bile come in my throat, burns like crazy,
plus chest pains. Never had this problem before.
Could this be GERD? Had RNY in '95, no big
weight gains until now have gained 80 pounds in last year.

Honey can you sue the person who did the surgery? or make him fix it.  It is a shame that you have to suffer that long with all the money and insurance qualifications that  it cost to have the surgery.  I hope that you find a competent Dr. to help do the corrections!

I'm doing mostly better now pain wise. I stil have a lot of soreness in the area where the adhesions were, but I've not been the best at laying around or skipping exercise. :(

I guess I would on some days but today is an iffy day. I'm having a bad emotional day.

I'm sorry to hear things are still hurting.
Hopefully in more time it will be moving in the right direction and you'll start to begin to feel better.
Constant pain is miserable to deal with, been there with other issues.

PS. If you had a chance to do it over again would you still have RNY?

If I had any idea I'd be in this much pain, I'd never have done it.

Topic: Red and puffy incision
I am post-op 23 days.  I have done very well with very little complications.  Today one of my incisions has become red and puffy.  I have my first post-op appt tomorrow and will let them know the problem.  Any suggestions for tonight?  Thanks in advance.

Hello - Good for you for doing your homework on this! It is very important to know what the complications are and how they can effect your lifestyle and goals. I'd like to offer one more perspective than has not been presented already from an insurance specialist point of view. I encourage you to please take some time to research not only the health effects of possible complications from WLS, but the financial effects of a possible complication. If you have insurance that covers your WLS, make sure you ask questions about your benefits and understand if your insurance will pay for complications related to WLS. Another good question to ask is whether or not their is a cap or a "maximum lifetime benefit" on your plan. Many insurance companies have these and when they are met, they will not pay for anything related to your WLS including complications that can be very costly if you have to pay them out of pocket! If you are a self-pay patient, there are many surgeons out there that offer a complication protection plan. This means that the price you pay for surgery as a cash-pay patient can include protection from complication-related medical bills as authorized by your surgeon within a defined time period. The surgeons that offer this plan to cash-pay patients are called BLIS surgeons. To learn more about this or request a BLIS surgeon in your area, please visit www.bliscompany.com or message me directly. Hopefully this information has been helpful to you! I wish you the best success in your journey towards weight loss surgery!!! Billie

Topic: Drunk feeling and swaggering while walking?
I am 15 months out from RNY and have noticed the last few days that out of the blue I feel like I lose my balance when I walk..almost like I sway  to the right...Not sure if this is a sugar issue or maybe a drop in blood pressure.Anyone else experience this?
Thanks,
Sherry
