Yes- I do feel blessed.....

I was 43 years old at the time of surgery. It's funny,  I really don't focus on my weight loss. I have lost 103 pounds total and have remained at 235 pounds. I would still like to lose another 50 to 80 pounds, but it's not as all important as it once was. I feel healthy and want to stay that way.

I think they did do a leak test during surgery....it didn't show up then. I had many in the days following, but the surgeon and the radiologist disagreed on the results and on the reason I kept vomiting. The surgeon was wrong....

I still can't get into the Patricia's hope site.  If anyone is willing to email me directly with their stories,   I would greatly appreciate it and will repond with my own story.  Maybe we can set up a small distance support group for each other.

The pain meds are okay sometimes but occasionally (If i miss a dose or go too long without the binder or get up trying to do stuff) it doesn't work soo well. I am seriously hurting worse from this surgery than with my RNY or gall bladder/gtube placement.

Wow   that is a major surgery!  Of course you are still hurting from that!

If your pain medications are not sufficient, please contact your surgeon for affective pain management!

Please keep us posted on how you are doing!  I will pray for you!

I have to have another surgery and I'm afraid I can't wait much longer as the pain is getting out of control!  :-(   I feel for you!

Julie has been through a lot too!  :-(

They sectioned off the afferent limb so that food could no longer get in there and had a lot of adhesions to clean up.

Hi Folks,

I have just located this site.  Pretty ridiculous considering I had rny nearly 9 years ago.

I came here because I have had complications.  Some rather serious.  I had adhesion removal surgery last august.  Okay, stay on the point steph...I had no after care support what-so-ever.  Just wasn't available from my surgeon back then.  I have been "dumping" since very soon after surgery.  My doc bypassed 5 ft, and the reconnect is a bit distal too.  I noticed somewhere along the line that I had two different kinds of reactions in my bs.  One that was immediate or within a short time after eating something high carb or sugery.  The other one is more diabolical.  1.5 to 2 hrs. after eating - and it doesn't seem to matter what.  When my bs drops, we're talking 20 to 35 and it comes on fast.  This happens 2 to 3 times a week.  I've informed my dr.(GP), but no one seems terribly concerned.  I even blacked out once, my daughter poored coke into my mouth - no kidding, and slapped me around until I came to.  bs was 18 that time.  Everything I've read on these boards makes it sound like I should be VERY concerned.  Why isn't my dr.?  Anybody else deal with this?

What did they find and what did they do?

My surgery was last Tuesday. So it's been 6 days. I'm still having horrible pain from it. :|

I had food in my "old stomach" after a full bowel obstruction.  That was a close call with death.

I've had more than my share of complications.  I have to have another surgery for a huge hernia and I believe that I have another partial bowel obstruction.  *sigh*

When is your exploratory surgery?
