Newbie Here...
Hi Yall...
I'm curious what everyone has to say about going on a cruise post-op. How do you manage? Are you able to enjoy the cruise as much? Besides being more active doing the activities, the mainstay of the 1 cruise I was on was food and I was wondering how everyone copes with that??

Disney Cruise for Honeymoon.. Planning a return in '06 post-op

Hi gyuy! My hubby and I both had surgery last year and went on a cruise in February. Carnival was wonderful to us. They removed our water glasses automatically after the first night. They also were very gracious when we explained what we could and couldn't eat. We ordered off all of the menus. We always took the stairs and ate ice cream under the stars every night. We lost weight and didn't gain. We were able to dance and be weigh more active than ever before.
We are planning another cruise on the Carnival Legend in February of 2006 and are really looking forward to it. Hope you enjoy yourself as much as we did!
I have not had the surgery as of yet...just starting the process...I myself wonder how hard it would be to do the thing I love most...cruises...I am going on a cruise in jan. carnival legend...I am pretty excited
...I just happend to see that there a many others out there that enjoy cruising even after surgery!!!! This is wonderful news!!

We asked them to take them away as we do not drink a 1/2 hour before, during our meal or 1/2 hour after our meals. This way the food stays in our pouch and we get all of the protien and nutruition absorbsion that we can. We also stay full much longer between meals thus avoiding the need to graze. This is what our doctor recommended and I must say it works.
