Darrin~
Best wishes for your upcoming surgery! You must be doing the final preparations for the surgery as we speak. I can't even imagine how you must feel 2 days before surgery... it must be so many emotions. That is the same reason I am hoping to get surgery done ASAP after getting back from the cruise. I don't want to be climbing the walls. Please keep me posted on your recovery. Godspeed in your healing, peace to you.

Always go to a reputable travel agent. If your state has a requirement for licensing as a Seller of Travel, select a travel agency that is licensed. Many Home-based Agents don't follow this legal requirement, but here in California it's a felony!
My agency is a member of two consortiums that have group space on several different cruise lines and itineraries, so that is very important for you the client because it gives better options and sometimes pricing.
Some agencies offer "perks" for booking with them as well, which you won't get from other agencies or the cruise lines themselves. You also need to find someone who can give you first hand advise - it's not the wisest to buy a cruise from someone who hasn't cruised in 10 years.... their information would be quite out of date.
For more information you can contact me via MSN or Email, or check out my Cruise website www.ShipVacations.com.
Always glad to help a fellow traveler -

Michelle,
I am going on the same cruise on the September 4th sailing!
I was on the Victory last year, in May for a 7 day Western Caribbean Cruise from Miami. It really is a beautiful ship.
After returning to NY on the 9th, my wife and I will be sticking around until the 12th, so we can visit Ground Zero for the 5th Anniversary. My wife is from NY and lost some friends on September 11th (she is former NYPD), and this will be here first excusion back to the area.
Talking about a farewell cruise, I just got back on Sunday from a 7 day Mexican Riviera Cruise for my brother's wedding. I have to tell you it took my mind off my upcoming surgery (2 days and counting!) since I was about to climb the walls!
Enjoy yourself!

Hello Friends~
We have 7 cabins reserved on this cruise, coming up very soon! Just wondering if any other WLS friends will be on that boat? I am going with my family and hoping to have gastric bypass the week that I get home! I am so excited. I am calling this my "goodbye to fat" cruise! We are going to Halifax, Nova Scotia. I have been on this boat before, it's very nice.

I was just wondering where all of you buy your tickets? I am always on the prowl for discount fares and agents that offer group bookings to save more $$$. Any advice out there?

ditto what the other posters have said. the spirit class ships are great. the layout is easy to negotiate, not too big, just right. i sailed it to alaska in 2003 and the sister ship miracle to western carib in 2005, loved both voyages, i'm sure you'll have a wonderful cruise.
Topic: RE: What was your best Cruise
Not sure if anyone looks at this anymore but I just found and wanted to chime in. Our best cruise was aboard the Diamond Princess to Alaska in 2005. We liked the boat so much we have booked another cruise on her for Sept 2006 from Vancouver to LA
Happy sailing

The Carnival Spirit is a beautiful ship.
I was just on it last month... took a family on a tour whose son is getting married on the Carnival Pride next month. They were impressed, especially since they had never been on a Carnival ship before.
They are avid Cruisers who have sailed on Princess, Holland America, NCL, Celebrity and RCCL, but never looked into Carnival because of it's "fun ship" image, think it was for younger crowds.
Carnival had really changed their image over the past 10 years and really have a following of multi-generational cruisers.
You will like it!

Topic: RE: Cruise Fanatic
I am becoming a cruise fanatic myself. I have been on three since June 2005. In June 2005 I went on a short four day to Ensenada and Catalina Island on the Carnival Paradise. Then in September 2005 I went on a 10 day to Alaska on the Regal Princess and in April 2006 I went to the Panama Canal on the Coral Princess. Now on October 22nd I am going to fly to Rome and cruise the Mediterranean on the Carnival Liberty for 12 days. I love cruising! I always get a balcony, at least and I had a mini suite when we went to the Panama Canal.
If you have any good cruises to recommend let me know. I also have a good travel agent that I got on line. I research my cruises and try and get the best price. Early booking helps a lot, too. I love it! It's the only way to travel.
