2 weeks and counting...

Well, after trying everything under the sun/moon, not being able to sleep has finally forced me to give my 2 weeks notice, I gave it to my boss 2 weeks ago, with the hope that he would see I was serious and change my shift before the 1st, well, the deputy director said they would do it, but the director (who is usually more of a figure head then actively involved in the day to day stuff) said NO! (long complicated story involving a now ex employee, who might not be totally ex yet, it is a messed up situation) So, as of July 15 I am unemployed, not the smartest move, but the sleep deprivation is affecting my health and job performance.. I am applying at the neighboring county, but am afriad the no overnights might keep me from dispatching again time will tell.. wish me luck, I need it

Brianna - I am so very sorry I didn't see this until now. Are you gone from the job already or did they find a last minute fix for you? How are you doing right now? I'm sorry I went AWOL, apparently along with everyone else. Please update when you can!!! Dina

HI Dina, Yes, I am gone.. July 15th was my last and I miss it The Deputy Director was going to move me, but the Director said NO! The guy who trained me went to the Dir and confronted him about the way they were letting me go, which made me feel good, it is nice to know I was appreciated by someone. I am now searching for a job and am going out of my mind from the boredom. The stress level is a bit high as well, not so much for the lack of cash flow right now, but the lack of health coverage (I can't afford the 443 a month for COBRA) In the end it will all work out, it usually does.. and I cling to my belief that everything happens for a reason.. so say a prayer for me, and I will drop back when I can, I am hardly on line these days at all, even with all my spare time. Of course, I am keeping busy doing things around the house, but it isn't the same as a job... take care Brianna
