Wow! A dispatchers forum!
I have an interview with the Sonoma County Sherrifs department next monday to be a dispatcher. I took there pre-exam thing and scored in the 97th percentile for the whole state and 1st out of all the people who took the test, so I hope I get the job. I had surgery in february of this year and have lost 50 pounds. when was your surgery???
Hey there! A little life on this board exsists!
Congrats on the high score - hope you get the job! I lived in Mendocino county when I was a kid - we used to go to Santa Rosa often! My sis just moved to Rancho Mirage from Ukiah not too long ago too. Small world!
I had my surgery March 10th and have lost 33 lbs so far. I'm really really hoping to see at least 40 off before I go back to work, but will happily take 50!

my interview was this monday.....I think it went okay. I didnt realize it was going to be a panel interview (3 people asking me questions), all I can hope is they liked what I had to say. I also had to take a typing test while I was there, and I'm pretty sure I did fine on that. I was sooooo nervous though. I havent heard anything yet....how long do you think before I'll hear something??

LOL!!!!!! When I am looking for employees, I normally call the day after the interview! But then too, I am in a Large county with a Low population. COUNTRY!! (But I love it). I suppose that it would depend on the number of applicants, the number of positions etc.
I still wish you much good fortune. When you get in, I sure hope that you learn to love it as much as I do. Keep notes (no names) cause if you stay in it long enough, some day you are going to want to write a book about all the things that you have heard over the years.
Well, I better be putting this board on my favorites to check out how many people are posting since OH isn't getting me my email notifications! Good to see so many of us out there! But then, I *knew* we had to be prolific here since we have the worst job for weight gain!
17 years - you have been a long-timer then! I have been in this since 1988, so I'm not far behind you. I'm going to post a new thread I think so we can get to know each other!
