people drive me nuts!!!

we got a 911 call from a man reporting an accident, with no real information other then a vague location.. he got the call from his daughter, who was not involved either, she got the call from her husband who was involved and no one knew the husband's cell phone so we could get better info... PEOPLE !!!!!!!!!!!!!! Heaven forbid the person involved dial 911 hmself !!!

This just KILLS ME!! I can not stand to get calls like this. I had a call 3 weeks ago of an armed robbery at Checkers and the employees were LOCKED in the freezer! I started asking if anyone was injured and she said "I don't think so". So then I asked what the suspect looked like and she tells me "I don't know. I'm on my way there now." I said "You were not there or involved?" She replies "oh no ma'am. I'm the manager, and I've told them if anything like that happens, to call me first!!!" I just went off in my head!! I wanted to light into her with both barrels! But I held my cool and said "Well, ma'am, you don't need to go into the building until my officers have made sure the scene is secure, and if you are going to be the first ones they call, you need to be able to provide us with SUSPECT information so we can try to CATCH HIM!!" God forbid we try to protect the public!!

You gotta love people like that... managers running to the scene before police get there, and not having a clue what is going on or who they are looking for! they don't think about their safety! Why don't people have the common sense to call 911 first, then the manager!! or one call 911, someone else the manager...

I had 3 patrols searching up and down the highway yesterday for the same accident in 3 different locations! Thank God there were no serious injuries. I wish people could understand that we don't have a crystal ball to see the location or other details of our calls. lol Carol

Yes, you have to love these crazy people who have no clue where one accident is... cell phones are great, but everyone and their brother doesn't need to call in the same incident... The cops around here are just as bad as the publici in their thinking our crystal ball is working.. our is temporarily out of order !!! brianna

I agree!! I also hate those "kids" that think 911 is a good way to either play a joke or get even with their parents on! Yesterday had a call from a father who was on his cell phone with his daughter who said her bodyguard (yes, bodyguard) was holding her at gunpoint in her car on the freeway. We had deputies from both the area stations driving up and down where she said she was with no luck. She kept disconnecting with dad then calling him back. Then she said the bodyguard let her out of the vehicle but he was still sitting in it and still there. Turned out to be a big joke to her! Our deputies taking care of this priority one call that turned out to be a hoax on Christmas Eve when they could've been tending to REAL emergencies!!
