Fell off the wagon this weekend~~~
Ok guys.... I fell off the wagon this weekend.
We had our police dept squad party with the guys I work with. I brought my water, bypassed the alcoholic drinks, eggnog, and punches. I totally avoided the sweets table. But guess what??? They had it catered by one of my favorite chinese places. I headed straight for the Kung Pao chicken and rice!! Then I drank the diet coke. (sodium and caffiene) So, I got home and went straight back to the menu, and water water water! I was at MRC first thing this morning to get back on track. It totally showed up today though. I was 2lbs up!! I can't believe I was soooo stupid and weak. I should have just grabbed the fudge and been done with it!
I've got to get thru this next week guys. It's going to be so difficult. My family is full of "feeders". They think you should "taste this" or "I've cooked all of this and you're not going to eat it!!" Very guilt giving people! You know the type, I'm sure.
Thank for letting me vent!
Sherri

Sherri, you fel off the wagon a bit, but you got right back on, you realize what you , and that is the important par****ching what you eat is hard, harder at this time of year! I know you can make it through this, you have such strength and determination, it will happen. You wouldn't be human if you didn't make a mistake here and there.. so you goofed, move on, and try not to dwell on it!!! Remember you are doing this the old fashioned way and it is tough... and I know exactly what you mean with the family of feeders.. my grandma would grill me about my weight loss at dinner, then get offended when I wouldn't eat dessert!!! She was a confused feeder haha.
hang in there, we are right behind you YOU CAN DO IT!!!! I have faith in you

Oh Sherri - don't fret too much. The one thing you are right about is getting back on the wagon. Regardless of whether you have had surgery or not, the struggle is the same around the holidays....making good choices and not letting the pounds creep back on. I am battling it as well at not quite 2 years post op. But get rid of the all or nothing thinking and realize that those 2 lbs are likely water gain and you'll see them go away soon enough.
And I know what you are talking about with the family. My father's side of the family are Southerners (Arkansas) so I know that guilt feeding thing. On one hand my grandmother would tell me I was too fat to find a man, and then turn right around and get upset if you didn't eat enough of the food she put out.
Ahhhh.....my family. It puts the "fun" in Dysfunctional!!!
