Visiting the comm center on a day off??

How many of you visit your comm center on a day off? I've run the gamut from wild horses not being able to drag me down there in my off time to frequently going down on my weekend to gab or visit. Thankfully we have a wonderful atmosphere right now where the latter is true. It's funny how things can change so drastically in a comm center. You can have a few really rough years and then have them followed by a run of great years. I never loved my job so much as I do when I enjoy my co-workers....that's for sure! Dina

Dina, while I do like my job and most of the people I work with, on my days off the last place I want to be is in the comm center... I hate when payday falls on my day off, since Ihave to come in and get my check! We do have a couple of guys, well, just one, who loves ithere so uch, he does come in on his time off just to BS... he is too funny... but not this Gal, when I am done, I am done and outta here Brianna

That was me 6 months ago - I SWEAR!!! Funny how things change though. Of course, I forgot that you were in a center full of men. I have girlfriends I go see. Not that I wouldn't be friends with the guys but generally they don't like talking about weight loss, clothing and all that fun stuff.

I was like that in the beginning, but not now. I feel like I may get like that when I transfer over to Records Secretary on the 9th. I will actually have an hour for lunch, and I may take a day or so a week to go visit the ones who are my friends. Many of them are telling me how envious they are of me getting out of there, especially now that the head supervisor has signed some type of contract that she must work 2 more years before she retires, and she got a raise. (What for, I don't know... we sure didn't get one) My whole reason for wanting out was a clash of work ethics with some, and lack of discipline as a whole on the Comm Center. If you were liked, then you were disciplined for even minor stuff, but if you are in the "in crowd", you were untouchable. I watched my self very closely and never got disciplined, but have filed numerous complaints about mistreatment of employees and watching others get away with barely taking a call..... So, I'm not exactly going to go join in their quest "not to answer a phone" by visiting them!! Sherri

Heck no! The ONLY times I go in on days off are for training or meetings. No....I did go in a while back to speak with a co-worker (who is also a friend of about 20 years, well before the job ever came to either of us) on another shift when my father passed. Other than that, I don't go to that place on my free time. They take enough of my time already, why give them more without getting paid for it?! ~Victoria 354/331/170-155
