Welcome Doug! Sorry it has taken me so long to respond, I have been having issues where I couldn't type, so I have been MIA and it was awful. It is always great to have another dispatcher (or former) join the group! I work in Lebanon PA, a samll county, 120,000+ people. We do all aspects of emergency and non emergency dispatch for the entire county. I had open RNY 9 mnths ago and have lost 110 lbs so far, and feel great! Hi Paula Thanks for the welcome. Providence fire has 14 engine companies, 8 ladders,,6 ems,1 air supply unit 4 marine units and 1 special hazard truck. Dispatching has 5 groups,1 lieutenat and 2 civilian dispatchers per group. Each group works a rotating shift,1st 2 days 0700-1500,next 2 days 1500-2300,next 2 days 2300-0700 and then they have 4 days off. The police dispatchers work in the same building, they work sraight shifts. Due to contracts over the years they have 2 different schedules,the senior dispatchers and senior control center operators work 6 straight days with 4 days off.the new dispatchers and control center operators work 4 days on with 2 days off. Dispatchers work in the communications dept. Both police and fire departments have around 500 members. Doug

I finally got the results of my lymph node biopsy, done over a week ago.. NO CANCER!!! That thrills me. The swelling in my arm is also coming down alot, so I don't need to wear a compression cast afterall... and the Dr isn't sure why the swelling has come down so much. He said we may never know what caused this to start, but it is finally resolving.. and that is really all I care about. Of course I may end up in physical therapy, since the pain in my arm had caused me to stop using it for almost a month now, and my fingers still have no strength, and doing alot of things is awkward and difficult, but I am working on using them more, and on straightening out my arm, the elbow doesn't want to be straight anymore, but that is slowly (and painfully) resolving) I am just so happy!! And to make it even better, when I got on the scale for my monthly weigh in, I was not expecting to see much loss at all, but I lost 11 lbs!! bringing my total to 110!! Time to apply for that centruy club card now! I can type a little better, so I should be around more.. reading posts but not being able to respond has been hard... it will be good to get back in the "game" again I want to thank EVERYONE for their wonderful support!!! brianna

Welcome Douglas! I no longer work in dispatch. I transferred over to Police Records Secretary on Jan 9th. I did work in E911, Police, Fire & emergency dispatch. We handled all of the incoming traffic, calls and dispatching for the whole city in dothan al. Sherri
