Sherri, Congratulations!!! I still have about 30lbs to loose but I'm very very happy where I am now. WLS isn't for everyone, you're doing well - keep up the great work! I worked in records in Oregon for 7 years, I used to hate this time of year, but I do miss all the investigation type stuff I got to deal with. As you said, it's a never ending battle... and then you get to work on purging the archived files... HAVE FUN!!! Sheryl

Well, I finally made it past the 20lb mark at Metabolic Research Center's scales. I'm 21lbs down with them since beginning. I was 184lbs when I started there, and I weighed in at 163lbs yesterday. I was 188lbs when I had to face the fact I wouldn't qualify for WLS. So, I've actually lost 25lbs. It's really nice knowing I'm almost half way to my goal. I just had to share. I've missed you guys. I've been so busy catching up on the police records from 2005!! I'm finally finished and our Admin. Secretary is tallying up the 2005 arrests/accidents/incidents/domestics... etc. I'm working on 2006 arrests right now. It's a never ending battle!! Take care! Sherri

I'm lame I know... I only check this site when I'm at work and it's slow enough... Anyway, it's been wet and cold here too. We work 12-hour shifts, I love it except we only get every other weekend off... We have lots of OT here too, but on the other side of the house - dang it anyway! Take the pay girlo... you know how it is, we never seem to be able to get the time off to use that comp anyway. OK, back to work for me - it's getting busy! Sheryl

Well, coffee & breakfast after work sounds like a date to me! I dunno, call me a romantic, but what's the harm in getting caught up in the romance? But then I'm an all or nothing kind of girl, so that is my "mode" coming out. If you're already seeing each other, you've already dipped your feet into those waters. What will be, will be, huh? I hope it's a great way to be, though!!!! Dina

See - I don't check in near enough either. I'm just so tired so much of the time that when I'm checking email in the morning I fall asleep with the warm laptop on my lap! Yeesh! It has been very WET and rainy here, but snowy in other parts of the state that we dispatch for. And so it has been a crazy week...mostly busy but with a nice mellow evening here and there. We work 4-10's but I only had 1 day off last week and have 2 this week. Lotsa overtime all the sudden. But that's okay, my checks have been looking pretty happy. Normally I just take comp but lately I've been taking pay and it's been fun to use that on little Dina toys here and there. It was a VERY nice day today - warm and springy, but it's very windy tonight...but still warm. Another system is to hit tomorrow though, so it is short lived. ::sigh:: Dina

Brianna - I have heard a little bit about Lymphedema in the past few years. Had a supervisor who had breast cancer and they took her lymph nodes out so she ended up with it in her arm. Also if you look at Amy Williams profile, you will learn a lot about it here: http://www.obesityhelp.com/morbidobesity/members/profile.php?N=W1029266563. She ended up getting it in her legs from falling and injuring herself when she didn't realize she had done so. She found physical therapy did help her though. I think from what I have read the actual problem of lymphedema isn't life threatening (I think!) and is more of an annoyance than anything. I know it can be serious like it was for Amy, but once you find out what it is, it can be worked around. I think compression bandages work well. I hope this isn't what you have, but if it is, then hopefully you'll find it is managable. The good news is you haven't had your lymph nodes out so maybe you'll regain some function whereas those who have had that done won't. Keep us posted and try not to sweat it too much. I know it's easier said than done, though, but I'm thinking positive for you!!! Dina

The dr finally figured out what is wrong with my arm.. they say it is lymphedea and I am freaking out! I go Monday for a biopsy, then who knows where from there. I have been researching it on line, and I don't understand, everything I have read says this is usually the result of breast cancer surgery, or sometimes some other surgery.. I have not had any kind of surgery other then my RNY back in May. I am still trying to find more information but in the meantime, my mind is working overtime,(none of it good) and being up all night at work with nothing to do is not going to help matters please say a prayer things come back negative. brianna

Hey Sheryl, Seems I missed your post by about 2 days!!!! Guess I better check in on this forum more often. It's pretty chilly here too....but yesterday was BEEEEYOOOUUTEEEFULLL!!! Although kinda windy, I think we actually got up into the 50's...Needless to say, it caused all kinds of craziness at work last night!! Shootings, fights, stabbings, etc....all in a day's work, I guess. Hope you enjoy(ed) your days off!! I'm actually NOT going to work tonight...I've had enough of that place for this week...I need a day off. LOL .....yes, definitely try to make it to the gym on your days off...sometimes the hardest part about working out for me is putting on my gymshoes!!! Once they are on, there's no stopping me!!! All the best, Paula
