We are going through a possible merger with surrounding areas to form a dispatch center. I was wondering if anyone else had done this or they had plans. And if you've done it how did it go? We have a couple of people who are somewhat against it. We have been a small department who works 1 dispatcher a shift and a couple of us have been here for almost 40 years collectively. Just wondering, thanks.

A board full of people who understand my job and my weight issues! Hi all, My name is Carol and I'm a dispatcher from NJ. I'm attending a new patient seminar on Aug 25. I've been contemplating surgery for a while and I think it's time to go ahead with it. I've tried so many times to lose the weight and it always comes right back on. Working midnights doesn't help at all. I end up eating all night if things are slow. We only have one dispatcher on duty at a time because it's a small town. There are usually only two or three patrols and myself to handle whatever comes up. That's fine most nights. But as you all know, when it hits the fan, you could have ten dispatchers working and still be shorthanded. I've been joking with my DH that I'm tired of being the Fat Dispatcher and I want to be the Hot Dispatcher lol. Well, I'm looking forward to getting to know you all. Have a great night. Carol
