Loretta- I know I'm late on this, but you can expect to be wiped out feeling for awhile now. You will regain your energy, but expect that energy to wane for a couple months. It gets better gradually, but I still had a few days here and there 2.5 to 3 months out. Totally normal! Dina

Topic: RE: Tell me why your town/city is so great!
I dispatch for a fire department that is landlocked by the city of Columbus. Our civil service department gives tests periodically (I think one may be coming up next year some time) so that you can be ranked on a list. You get extra points for military service. And you can be hired by either the police or fire departments. We will probably be having someone retire in the next year or so. But Columbus has a lot to offer. We have a world class Zoo (Jack Hanna made it what it is today), we have several theaters for plays (like Chicago, the Producers, etc.). We have a semi-pro baseball team (they leave here and go to the Yankees), we have professional hockey (if they ever get their deal done), four major venues for concerts, lots of little stuff, great festivals (Greek, Latino, Italian, The Circleville Pumpkin Show-Yum) and you are no more than maybe 2 1/2 hours from either professional baseball (Indians and Reds) or football. Everybody thinks the grass is always greener on the other side of the septic tank. But I used to live in Montana, and as beautiful as it is, it has nothing over Columbus. That's why I raised my kids here. We went to Cincinnati 4 times this year and once to Cleveland for ballgames. Oh, and 3 major amusement parks the closest within about an hour. The more I describe it, the better it sounds. Tami

Hi Loretta, Congrats on your surgery. I'm sorry you are having some soreness, but it will go away. In the beginning, I had to force myself to stand up straight because it was so sore. I know what you mean by tired. Get plenty of rest, your body needs it. I wish you continued success in your recovery!!!!!

Hi Loretta, I haven't had my WLS yet, but I have had plenty of other surgeries. It is very normal to be tired after a major surgery like this. Your body has been through alot in the last week and it needs lots of TLC right now. Take it easy and get lots of rest. Everyday post-op it should get a little easier for you. Don't push yourself. Take care, Mary Ann

l-o I'm one week post op and feel extremely tired. I never had a major surgery before this so is this a normal feeling? I'm doing good have been able to walk around the block a couple of times however now I'm very sore in the upper left stomach area. I think I pulled something since it hurts when I move certain ways. Pain from surgery hasn't been bad at all, I haven't had to take the pain meds sent home with me, just been taking adult liquid tylenol when I start to feel uncomfortable. Just got back from a short morning walk so now I think I'm going to rest a little and try to get some things done later on.

Hello there...nice to meet you. I keep hopping back and forth between this board and the Ca one. I'm just your typical "newbie"...becoming TOTALLY OBSESSED with this surgery thing. I'm meeting so many nice people and learning sooooo much. Thanks for saying hi and I just can't wait to hop on that "wild rollercoaster ride" like all of you. Take care, Mary Ann

Hello Mary Ann. I've been an oilfield dispatcher for 14 years now and has Lap RYN in May of this year. You'd best get ready for a wild rollercoaster ride with this surgery. You take care and have a great week. The Cajun -99
