Welcome back, Rita (wife) just had her 1 week appointment, doc says she can eat most anything that has the consistancy to suck thru a straw. She was getting tired of the water, jello stuff. She had her first taste of mashed potatoes (her favorite) yesturday, she is 10 days a loser and lost 22pds counting the +12 pds she gained in the hospital due to IV fluids. So keep up the good work, you need to do walking too, Rita says she has a metalic taste that started about 3 or 4 days after the operation she was told it's due from her body in ketosis and will go away. Glad to hear you are doing good find a support group they do help. And if you need professonal help don't be scared to get some. Bill Tech-13

Good luck girl!!!!! Wife is now a loser +6 days. She gained 12 pds while in hopital due to the IV's (They where wide open all of the 1st day and half of the 2nd day). She is now losing the weight. Find a support group in your area if you can. Bill

Thank You! Please give your wife my wishes for a safe and speedy recovery!! Thus far, I am not nervous...hmmmm, don't know what that will be like for the next day or so LOL! I am also on hold in my Paramedic class. The lead instructor tells me "don't worry about it, your grades are fabulous", yeah well, that isn't taking care of the clinicals!!!!!! Anyway, I get a few weeks with no radios, no patients, no responders, no pager - - - Oh S&*t what will I do!?! Thank you for the words of encouragement, they are greatly appreciated.
