Miniature Schnauzer
After years of saying I'd never own a small dog, I now do...and I wouldn't trade her for love nor money! As the title denotes, she is a miniature Schnauzer named Missy (Melissa Marie) and..well really, she owns me. She is so smart that it's scary; I tell her "Off the sidewalk and on the grass," and she does it. She follows directions better than my students do! She doesn't shed, and the only time she barks is if (1) it's a squirrel or a rabbit, (2) it's another dog and she wants out to play, or (3) it's someone going by fast either running or bicycling. Barks are very short in duration, too. Anyone else have a miniature Schnauzer???
Hi Gail,
I have a miniture schnauzer. Her name is Nakitta Taboo, but call her Nikki for short. She will be 8 years old this coming October. She is very smart. She was real easy to house train. She rings a bell that is at the back door when she has to go outside. My husband gave her to me as a gift when she was 4 weeks old. She is very spoiled. She does not have a normal bark like other dogs. She barks like she is crying. She does this only when company comes over or hears a noise outside. She listens very well.....
We have 3 Miniature Schnauzers, I love THEM, they are the greatest dogs. NO SHEDDING!!!
Maggie who is 18 years old and somewhat feeble. Knabe her son, he is 12. Both are salt and pepper. Garbo is our black mini-schnauzer and she rules the roost.
We have had schnauzers for almost 25 years, in fact Maggie is the daughter of our original schnauzer, Chopper, whom I bought for my husband as a wedding present.
They are very smart dogs and very territorial and protective of family members. I wouldn't trade mine for anything and it saddens me that Maggie is so old and feeble anymore.....
