I have a 4 year old Boxer that I should have named Pinnochio. Seeing as he thinks he is a "real" boy. However, I named him Bubba Jazz. We call him Jazz, Jazzy, Bubba and my neice affectionately calls him Bubbies. Which I believe is a definite shot to machohood. Poor baby. He is the light of my world next to my 3 kids. I never tire of coming home to him. I can walk outside to the road and get the mail which takes all in all about 3 minutes and he is still freaking out like I have been gone for days. Every boxer owner I have ever met say they would never own another beed but this one. Truth is... I never thought an animal could make such a positive difference in one's life the way he has made a difference in mine.

Hi Bonnie, Just ran across your post and had to reply. I have 2 boxers, Chelsea and Chance and they are my babies! Never believed I could love a dog as much as I do these two! I know exactly what you mean about their reaction to your return just from the mail box......their twisting bodies, talking and wiggling that wee stump of a tail, is the sweetest thing. I have never known dogs so full of love for their owner and these two for each other. They lay with their heads on one another like a pillow and even lay with their arms around one another. Plus....they both like to climb in the bed, crawl under the blankets with me and sleep away.....awwwwww.....now that is truly boxer love!

Hi Bonnie I, too, am a Boxer lover - see my profile for photos of my babies. I have two - a 7-yr old male fawn (Rudy) and my baby girl, 4-yr old brindle, Haley. Added to this mix is an 8 yr old red Doberman (Nick). I have owned Boxers for 20 years and will always have at least one! Note to anyone - like all rescues - Boxers do have their own rescue organizations. One here in Texas that I've worked with for 3 years is Lone Star Boxer Rescue - www.lonestarboxerrescue.com. Always pass on a good word for your local Boxer Rescue - they need your time, help - anything you can provide. Sunie

Hi my name is Diane Garcia and I am proudly owned by a six year old male fawn boxer named Boomer. Our family couldn't even imagine living with out a boxer in my home. My daughter is 9 years old now and we drove to Nashville to get him when my daughter was 3 years old. She has dressed him, rode him like a horse, slept with him, and even has taken baths with my Boomer. Check out my profile and you will see what a Boxer lover I am.

Hi! I came across this post and wanted to share about my boxer also......his name is Mozart(I am a violinist) he's 7 mos and hes fawn with a blk mask and a small amount of white on his nose. I NEVER thought I would own a dog in my life. When a friend brought her boxer Tyson to work I said to her "now that's a face only a mother could love" then another friend brought her checked boxer Chester to work and I absolutely fell in love with her. Now I have my Mozart. He has been an amazingly good dog. I was warned about potty training boxers but he was awesome!! He goes to work with me and working on a photography career, he is the main subject of my work. He has done a good job with me training him and he has a wonderful temperment-except when someone is bothering me, better look out!- yet he is such a big baby. Wouldn't it be great if we could all post their pictures in these replies??

Gosh I didn't imagine I would have so many others that share their interest in boxers! I have to give a very sad update however. My boxer baby Bubba Jazz passed away January 7th of this year. He wa**** by a car and died instantly. It was one day after my 17yr son's birthday. So many people in our hometown mourned his loss along with us. He was very much loved and had one heck of a wonderful although short life. I miss him terribly. I did get another boxer baby. His name is Gunnar. He and Jazz are opposite ends of the spectrum. He is a tirad. He ate parts of my couch and got a hold of some gorilla glue all over my living room carpet! I love him bunches but I just wish he wasnt so bad! I really enjoyed reading what each of you wrote about your boxers and other animals. Thanks for replying all of this was worth the read even a year later. Bonnie
