sheltie lover
Hi all, am I alone in my love for shelties? I have 4 of them and always wish hubby would say yes to another. They are so full of life and gentle. I have lost 2 of them in recent years but the 1 that hurts the most is the 1 that was stolen from my kennel. Timmy was my first and I thought I'd never be able to speak of him without a flood of tears. What worries me is that the abductor wasn't good to him and that he probably thinks that "mama" didn't love him anymore. I still have a hard time looking at his pictures.
Hi Nancy, No , you are not alone in your love of shelties... I just found this doggie messageboard. I have a sheltie named Bandit. He's going to be 8yrs old next month. I've had a few dogs in my life and I've got to tell you that by far this little boy has them beat hands down! I've never had a dog that was sooo smart and easy to train. We are just on the same wavelength. we understand each other so well. He's the love of my life for sure.
Hi, Nancy. Sorry, I just found this messageboard. I am very fond of Shelties. I am owned by 4 sable/whites and 1 bi black. I bred 2 litters so far and will breed my 3rd litter in a month or so. I show them in conformation and my male is an AKC Champion just completing his title last November. Let me know if you want a 5th Sheltie.

You are not alone. I've had shelties for about 30 years and my current one is a doll. He is so beautiful and smart and has me completely wrapped around his little paw. Have to admit I spoil him so. He is my best friiend. He was a rescue dog so I don't have papers and I got him at age 7 about 4 years ago. We do the dog training classes but he is a little long in the fangs to do agility. I got approved pretty quick by kaiser but am anxiously (and I'm not kidding about the anxious part) waiting for my visit to surgeon etc.

I have a 10 year old Sheltie. Buddy is wonderful, great with the kids etc... definitely one of the more perfect breeds, especially for families. Now I'm wishing for a Jack Russell...found a pup that I adore, but seems that I won't be able to bring him home
Maybe next year I'll be able to add to the family with one.
