Sheltie Mom Here
Hi all, I am Pauletta from Ohio and I am owned by 10 (TEN) wonderful Shelties (Shetland Sheepdogs). There is Charlie, Cierra, Trevor, Tucker, Zoey, Tosha, Cory, Dasher, Willow and Logan. Tosha, Dasher and Cory were all given to us. Cory was a stud dog who was past his prime when I got him 2 yrs. ago at the age of 9 yrs. old. Tosha belonged to a family that was in our 4-H group who was moving and needed a good home for their Sheltie. Tosha was 10 mos. old when she came to live with us, she turns 5 yrs. old in January. Dasher was in a bad situation. The people who had him lived in a shack and had numerous dogs (mutts and mongrels). Dasher was kept outside in a run down shed. He was thin, filthy and matted. Somewhere in his life, Dasher had been abused as he had major issues when he came to live with us almost 1 year ago. He has came a long way, but still has issues that may never be resolved. He has learned to trust and allows himself to be snuggled at times.
I do not breed my Shelties. They are my babies, members of our family. Their soul purpose here is to be loved for however long God gives us together. I say this because I lost my baby (Sheltie) Simon at 18 months to Kidney Failure. I had him for 13 short, but love filled months. He is now running the fields in Doggie Heaven, chasing birds and butterflies.

Thank you for sharing your pictures. I used to take care of a sheltie for a neighbor. He was a lovely sable sheltie. He has since crossed rainbow bridge. Wonderful dog. I have a border collie....black and tan....and tommorrow I am going to pick up an abandoned chihuahua that my husband and I are adopting.

My Sheltie is living with my ex, my kids are there part-time too... I couldn't take Buddy with me when I moved out since he is an alpha male and wouldn't have gotten along with my BF's Golden...Buddy is 10 and Robbie (the Golden) is 9...
I'll be adding a Jack Russell to the household the first week of January...he was born on the 6th.

Shelties are beautiful little dogs.. I saved one from the pound once. Someone was bringing in a sheltie with three legs.. their son was "allergic"... Well, I took Cappy home.. cleaned him up (I'm a dog groomer) and adopted him out to a wonderful family. And, he got along fine with three legs..
Bless you and your shelties!!!
