Dog Show Junkie
Hi my daughter, Harmonie, is also waiting for approval, which should be this week or next, and she will be lap RNY also. I forgot to mention to her to read this post so I will post for her. She showes her border collie, off leash, with hand signals, but I cant remember if its open A or Grad B, its been 2 years since she has shown, but her dog keeps her eyes dead set on her when she is working her or just playing with her. This dog is so attentive, Harmonie, always placed first, she has many trophies, silver platters, plaques, rosettes, and medialions. Harmonie, has always personaly trained all of her dogs, with myself and our other daughter helping her, my husband even works her dog on occasion, just for fun. We started our girls in 4-H when they were very young, and she has been showing eversince, except the past 2 years, but she has the fever again and cant wait to get back into the show ring. She goes to many very large AKC showes unbenched, we have never missed a show. She has also shown in the Ohio state fair several years and as always came out on top. I dont show, but it is so awsome to see her work her dog on hand signals, and the first time I saw this I was in total awe. Her dog will work for anyone in our family, and she is so obediant. Her dog sleeps with her in the hotel room when we travel to showes, its almost like they are one, there is such a bond. Harmonie is already to get back in the show ring this spring, she got her first showbill for the spring the other day. She mainly showes in the mid west. Good luck to you in your wls journey, and up comming shows. Rosemary
HI there, I to am a dog show junkie, I show Ridgebacks. I have been out of the ring for a few years now and am planning on starting again at the Nationals in April. I had Open RNY the end of July and so far have lost 90lbs. I fear that I still will not be able to run fast enough to move them properly but will see how it goes. I have also started back to handeling classes.
