am i a nut??? lol

hey ya'll, here i am wondering.... we moved here to alabama at the end of july, 04. i do not work, at this time, my husband is military. i have a 14 yoa son, my 17 yoa daughter has already moved back to texas. my husband & i have only been married since june of 04. we are living on base. i have not met ANYBODY since we have moved here, sometimes i feel like i am gonna go crazy!!! we have a 8 month old english bulldog, got him august 04, he is my salvation!! i treat him as though he is my child, believe he is too!! i will admit i am depressed, chesney blue gets me through. in 6 months i have lost my patience with him twice ( he is VERY stubborn!! hahahaha) sure can't say that bout the kids!!! anyways, without writing a book, was wondering, am i the only lunatic out there, living through their dog??!! GOD!!! i sound like a NUT!!!!!!!!!! LOL, PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE LET ME KNOW IF I NEED TO BE COMMITTED!!! HAHAHAHAHA!! thanks for listening, love to all, bon

Nope I dont see anything wrong with you at all. I remember all to well what it is like to travel with the military. My father was a career air force so we moved quite often. Our pets were our best friends, confidants, valued companion, never once did they ask us for anything but love back...that is why today i have 5 dogs...for each one of them in their own little way soothes me when I am upset...Personally I beleive you are as normal as this nut is LOL peace...

thanks so much for letting me know i was NOT a lunatic!!! i really didn't think the army thing would be that hard!! oh well, live & learn...huh!! i think the hardest is being so far from my family & friends!!! i am alot better than before the holidays, i got to see everbody, so that helped BIG TIME!! i've alwasy been a daddy's girl, not to mention the youngest!!! i lived iin the same town for about 90% of my life!!! talk bout culture shock!!!! lol!! again, thanks ever so much, you are an angel!!! always, bon

nope you're quite normal.. I have a little French Bulldog mix named Miranda (a.k.a. "Morty Feldman" cause she looks just like him).. She's my pride and joy... I love dogs so much I made them my career. I'm a dog groomer. Best thing about the dogs are the don't answer back like the kids (Well most of the time anyway)> Viv Mack

i want to be a dog groomer soooooooooo bad!!! how do you go about doin it??? there aren't any schools round here!! i have looked!! the only thing i have found is a correspondence school....but....can you really learn grooming that way?? isn't it more of a hands on thing???? i adore animals, small ones anyways!! horses & cows...grew up round them, still get kinda nervous!! also grew up round exotic animals, they are pretty cool. was always neat to take my friends to go see em!!! thanks for any info!! take care, bon

I vote that you are not a nut! LOL If you are - then I am one also! I have two dogs, a Boxer and a Boston Terrier... and they are my children! DH and I even say - well - gotta go home and let the kids out... The Boxer has helped me soo much with my depression - he is very very sensitive... heaven forbid if I cry - he is right there with me.... And he knows to stay away from DH if he has had a bad day - he just knows what each of us needs.. we say that he is a child stuck in a dogs body... What personality! LOL We have even had those profesional pics taken of our "kids" too cute! Starr

Hello! Bonnie! No you're not nuts. I have a 6 year old longhair minature dashund. He is the love in my life. No matter what kind of day I have had he's there for me and all he wants is my attention even if it is just for a little while. Enjoy your little one if he is attached to you as Jake is to me you have a truly one of a kind blessing. I have had many dogs in my life but there were only 2 that were very special to me. One was my 15 year old pomerian (Baby Girl) who I had just had to put down and the other one is Jake my 6 year old. You can love many dogs in your life but sometimes a special one comes along. Enjoy him and treasure him they are like our children, cannot be replaced and what you get back in return is worth more than gold, money or riches. Karen

Bonnie, No not a nut at all, if so you belong to a bushel basket of us then....LOL I have 2 chihuahua's, Roo (tan and maybe 3lbs) and then there is Oreo ( brown and white maybe 5lbs) All of my kids, from the ages 30 to 12, think I pay more attention to them than to them....all I have to say is: "WHO IS HOME MORE.....LOL" I love them to pieces, I can relate to the military thing, My father was career Air Force and my 1st husband was Army and current is Navy, step son is Navy also...LOL I guess my career is Military too...(blush):-&
