Any Siberian Husky lovers here?

I have been raising this magnificent breed for 16 years. Most people know them as the beautiful blue eyed "snow-dogs". While they certainly are beautiful, they are not the dog for everyone, and because of their intelligence, combined with a stubborn streak, they are often misunderstood and taken for "difficult" or stupid. I love talking about my 16 huskies, and would enjoy sharing my knowledge or just chatting to anyone else either considering a husky or who already has one (we could share husky stories!!!)

I have a husky/timber wolf mix. She is the most even tempered, intuitive, thoughtful little (I mean BIG) lady I've ever known! The husky part of her loves to talk. She say's "momma"

My best friend has a husky kennel (as do I) and she also raises wolf/husky hybrids. I love my babies, and Gemini says "I wuv you". I love the way they talk. You can see my babies at www.heroshuskies.com I read your profile. I, too, am just beginning this journey. I hope to have surgery the end of September to mid October. I am 5'4", 275 with a BMI o**** I have gained 105 pounds since I quit smoking 4 years ago. I have always been overweight, and have gained and lost around 400 pounds throughout my lifetime. I am tired of the struggle. I lost my mother and father very early due to diabetes related illness and heart failure. I know what it did to me to lose my parents so young, and I don't want that for my children. I am 44 next month. When do you plan on surgery?

I have a beautiful 8 year old red & white female. We got Hawley 5 years ago from Wisconsin Huskey Rescue. She is my second rescue Siberian. I love the breed. The are the sweetest, smartest, most stubborn and beautiful dogs around. If I had the room I would have many many more. I just found this message board today. Didn't know there was one. So hello to all you Husky Lovers!!!

HI guys, I too just found this part of the site. The love of my life is Dakota, my 5 yr old Huskita! (Husky & Akita) He looks like the biggest husky you ever saw (90 lbs, 3' at the shoulder). He's black & white with brown wolf-type eyes. I adopted him at two, and he has just taken to us soooo beautifully! He was raised in a day care home w/other dogs & is soooo good! He loves the dog park (the Akita in him loves to tackle the other dogs, freaks their owners out but he's never hurt anybody!) Still independent & stubborn, tho, I can't let him off leash or he's GONE! I call my 4Runner my 'dog carrier' & have a license plate frame that says 'Happiness is Dakota in the Toyota'!! He's such a mama's boy... and I've never had my own dog before! I feel such love for him, I don't know how to describe it. I'm sure you know! Thanks for letting me gush about my baby! I have a beautiful red and white blue eyed husky named Raine. She is 6 years old and is an amazing dog. Her temperment is fantastic and we love her to death. She has taught me to love winter, we walk every day, rain or shine, snow or sleet, etc. She has beautiful blue eyes and talks to anybody who will listen. She doesn't howl, but talks when people come in the house. She mostly lives outside but I feel sorry for her in the heat of summer and then she becomes a house dog. She is in her glory now with the cooler weather, so we can walk a bit more with the heat and humidity down. We got her from a rescue agency here in MN and she's been a fantastic dog every since she learned she's not the alpha female. Took a whil-LOL. She's a great addition to our family and i'd have a lot more if I had room. She loves the dog park and daily walks - needs them or gets a bit hyper. We both enjoy the walks so I don't mind. Glad this board is here- nice to know there are other husky lovers out there.
