All of these bi-breed dogs are great, and so cute!!!My niece got a multi-poo (multise/poodle, so precious. Many of these dogs are more costly than a purebread of each parent. Papplions are so sweet as are poodles. In the midwest these pups go for $700.00-$900.00. You might look up papplions and read on their tempermant also. Congrats on a new baby puppy.

Hi Rosemary Thank you so much for your positive reaction to my new baby! My husband was mortified that I paid what I paid for a "mixed breed" dog -- and I only paid $400 because he was an "unchosen one" -- I bought him at 5 months. His temperament is soooo sweet and loving. But he is going to need some obedience training, as I am spoiling him rotten already! It is so hard when they are so delicious! Regards, Marla

I have always been very courious as to why people mix their breeds. I see it's mostly with poodles. Why is that? Another popular mix is pug/beagle. Is it to cut down on shedding?

Some who mix breeds try to pass them off as a Breed unto their own. All you end up with is a healthier, better temperament, cute dog! I think some purebred owners go a little overboard on their castigation of "designer" breeds. I say to each his own! As for cutting down on shedding, thats luck of the draw! You have no way of guaranteeing a puppy will inherit the non-shedding gene!

Hi Karen!!! To my knowledge, people breed the poodle into other breeds to increase the intellegence and also, poodles are hypo-allegenic. The pug to beagle is to improve the pug's breathing and quite the beagle's howl. If I have my facts mixed up, please someone chime in lol. *~*Jaci*~*

Congrats! I groom this mix and its just adorable, nice little dog. One thing you might do is find a message board on the web of owners that have similar dogs. If you hit on a pure bred dog site they may not welcome you. I am a member of a poodle site (I have a standard) and they really aren't very nice to those who have mixed breed dogs. One piece of advice, when you are out there searching for info, don't call your dog a "breed", it turns off those that could be of great help. I found that people who own/breed purebred dogs don't care for mixes. I think a mix is a far better choice in most every case. More stable mentally, physically, etc.! Make sure you brush your baby daily, even just for a couple minutes, will save you and your groomer a lot of aggrivation in the future! Play with your baby's feet a lot too, will make nail clipping easier!

Hi Marla, Hooray on the arrival of your new puppy!!!! I have 2 papillons..they are a great breed of dog...can be a bit yappy (i.e. "yappy pappy" syndrome..lol) but they are great companions. Congrats on your new pup.....I've never seen a poodle-papillon mix...bet that is pretty cute though!! Is there little or no shedding? Paps don't shed all that much....but I brush my guys every other day. don't be turned off by those folks that look down on mixed breed dogs...I'm just glad you are sharing your life with a great little companion. can you post a pic of your new "addition"? cheers! Paula (and Copper & Skipper, too!)

Hi Paula -- Yappy? Oh, yes. I think they should call this mix a "YAPPY-Poo"!! Silly me, I picked him partially because while all the other dogs were going crazy, he was quiet and calm. Ha! He does not seem to be shedding, which is nice. And his hair/fur does not seem to tangle no matter what -- maybe as he gets older that will change. How do I post a picture of him on here. I haven't even put one up of me yet. Regards, Marla (and Henry!)
