Topic: Miniature Schnauzer
After years of saying I'd never own a small dog, I now do...and I wouldn't trade her for love nor money! As the title denotes, she is a miniature Schnauzer named Missy (Melissa Marie) and..well really, she owns me. She is so smart that it's scary; I tell her "Off the sidewalk and on the grass," and she does it. She follows directions better than my students do! She doesn't shed, and the only time she barks is if (1) it's a squirrel or a rabbit, (2) it's another dog and she wants out to play, or (3) it's someone going by fast either running or bicycling. Barks are very short in duration, too. Anyone else have a miniature Schnauzer???

Mishie, Trouble (eng bulls), Ginger the shih tzu, Pebbles the yorkie and the new mutt puppy that has not been named. I hate trying to pick a name. He will have 10 before I find one I like LOL> He is a husky looking puppy redish in color with tan markings he has a fox like face. He's gonna be large dog as his momma was a lab mix and his daddy was a lab rottie mix. Any suggestions? I want something unusual. We've had him 2 days and haven't really seen his personality yet. He wants to be glued to me and under my feet were ever I go.

Topic: Identification Help
Hello fellow dog lovers! I'm here on a mission and you can possibly help me. A little over a year ago I adopted a dog I found listed in the newspaper as a Walker Hound. The man assured me she was a purebread but said "Tiny" was the runt of the litter and would never make a good hunting dog as he'd hoped. Since I'd been hoping for a hound, I sent hubby and son to pick her up. When we took her to the vet the first time, they said they thought she was an American Fox Hound rather than a Walker due to her size. We couldn't have picked a better dog if we had lined all dogs up in a row and hand picked one. She's loving, kind, smart... all the things you want in a family dog. I mean look at this! http://www.obesityhelp.com/morbidobesity/pics/staff/rhia/ruby1-1.jpg"> Ruby (as we've now named her after my favorite gem) loves birds and takes her responsibility to protect all our birds very seriously. She scared two raccoons away from my daughter's ducks, she's chased the same neighborhood cat away from my finches a number of times. I'd just kind of like to know what to say when people ask me what kind of dog she is. It soon became apparent that Ruby had been abused by the former owner. She is afraid of her own shadow. It was over a month before she would venture out of whatever room I was in. It was well over a year before she dared to step over the vacuum cleaner hose instead of going around it! Though I've never laid a hand on her, when I approach her to pet her (or anyone else does this), she lays down like she expects to be beaten. It breaks my heart. I love her more than my own life. So, if anyone knows what type of hound she is, please speak up.
