You did say he was kennel trained? Why not try putting the kennel/dog crate in the room with you and put him in that to sleep during those special moments? Or just try letting him sleep in the kennel/crate periodically in another room so he gets used to it and doesn't feel pushed out when you do want him out of the room? I show afghan hounds and all my dogs are crate trained so that when I do want to use the crate they don't have a problem. Mind you...my dogs sleep in my bed most nights but there are times....

Topic: RE: Any Irish Wolfhound Breders
Where are you located? I have a friend who shows Irish Wolfhounds and she know lots of breeders. It's important to get a good one because if they aren't reared with proper food, supplements you can get one with a very short lifespan. I have afghan hounds myself. Janey

Hi, I know this post is old but I wanted to pass this along.. My mother has a bichon her name is Truffle Muffin.. we call her Truffy... My mom was able to housebreak her with a fly swatter. My mom never hurt truffy.. she never would but the fly swatter did the trick. Now truffy can stay im the house all day of she had to and no accidents. She is such a good dog. Angel J

If you are not particular about having a "registered" rottie and are not planning on breeding, you might check out any local rottie rescues. They sometimes have puppies. You can do a google search on NJ Rottie Rescue and see what comes up. Another option might be traveling to another state. I grew up in NJ and had always wanted a rottie, but the breeders were asking upwards of $800 for a pet quality dog back then. When I moved to NC, I was able to buy my beloved Lugar for $300. If you have friends in other states, maybe a road trip to get a new pup would be an idea.
