Topic: RE: Tinkle on the floor, every where.
Hi I have a smaller size Pom and smaller dogs really take alot of time to train. The only really thing that works is positive training with them otherwise they only grow more confused and are frightened of you. What you need to do is go to Petsmart and get some doggy diaper/pants. Then you need to take your dog out every hour and positively work with her everyday. Feed her at the same time everyday and sceduled her water as well. Training a small dog can be accomplished but I do know it's a hard process.

Topic: Diamond pet food
Here's a cross post from another Boston site.
Important Customer Alert
Diamond Pet Food has discovered aflatoxin in a product manufactured at the company's Gaston, S.C. facility. Out of an abundance of caution, we have notified our distributors in the areas affected and recommended they hold the sale of all products potentially affected by this situation.
Product quality and customer satisfaction are important to us, and we pledge to keep you updated as new developments occur.
What is Aflatoxin?
Aflatoxin is a naturally occurring toxic chemical by-product from the growth of the fungus Aspergillus flavus, on corn and other crops. The fungus develops on crops during years with severe high temperature stress and drought.
What products are affected?
Products formulated with corn at our facility in Gaston, S.C. may be affected by this situation (see complete list below).
The Gaston facility date codes are unique from other Diamond facility codes in that either the eleventh or twelfth character in the date code will be a capital "G" (in reference to Gaston). The range of date codes being reviewed are "Best By 01-March-07" through Best By "11-June-07." Diamond's quantitative analysis records substantiate that Diamond's corn shipments were definitively clear of aflatoxin after December 10. As such, "Best By 11-June-07" date codes or later are not affected.
Gaston facility products recommended for temporary removal from sale include:

What symptoms should I look for from my pet?
Symptoms of illness will include sluggishness or lethargy combined with a reluctance to eat, yellowish tint to the eyes and/or gums, and severe or bloody diarrhea.
What should I do if I suspect my pet is ill?

Topic: Free German Shepherd to Ga member
I seriously hate to do this as I've tried very hard to be paitent and work with him - but I have to have someone take the German Shepherd I have or I'll have to have him put down. I took him to keep his former owner from putting him down, but with my upcoming plastic surgery I can't keep him and he's too big for the rest of my family (my kids are 8 & 10) to try and handle.
He's had all his shots and I do have the records of this - but I simply can not keep him because once I'm healed we're moving and I can not take him with me.
I hate to have to put him down....but I'm being left no choice unless someone wants him.
Please let me know.....
Topic: RE: Any Scottish Terrier Owners/lovers out there?
Hi Rachel,
I have 2 scotties and they are the loves of my life. Winston is my first scottie and he is a 5 yrs old brindle scottie. We've had him from a baby and got him from a breeder in New Hampshire. Our newest scottie is Hamilton, we call me Hammy or Hampster. He will be 1 in Jan. He's a wheaton colored scottie and we got him from a breeder in Alabama. I would highly recommend this breeder if your interested in getting another. I found her on the internet and immediately connected with her. She sent me weekly photos of my pup and updated me on everything until the day he was old enough to come home. If you would like to email me for more info on this breeder or just to ask me anything please feel free to do so @ [email protected].
Looking forward to hearing from you. Melissa in MA.
Topic: RE: I JUST GOT A "PAPPY-POO"
Hi Karen!!! To my knowledge, people breed the poodle into other breeds to increase the intellegence and also, poodles are hypo-allegenic. The pug to beagle is to improve the pug's breathing and quite the beagle's howl. If I have my facts mixed up, please someone chime in lol.

Topic: RE: Hello fellow Dog Lovers, I'm new!
Jaci,
I am a dog lover too. I have 3, a Boston, a Rat terrier, and a Parson(Jack)Russell terrier and they are my babies. My JRT will be 13, but you wouldn't know it to see her take off after a sqirel or cat, she does not like cats, I think, she thinks they are sqirels. The rat helps her go after the sqirels, too. I love to watch them. My babies all sleep with MaMa at night, or when my back is hurting so bad, that I must lay down.
So welcome to the animal planet.
