Topic: Yorkie breeders?
Anyone breed Yorkies in SC, NC, Va, TN, KY, PA, OH or WV?
We lost our Yorkie a couple months back and I was looking for one for my daughters birthday in December.
Thanks!
Topic: RE: Any Siberian Husky lovers here?
I have a beautiful red and white blue eyed husky named Raine. She is 6 years old and is an amazing dog. Her temperment is fantastic and we love her to death. She has taught me to love winter, we walk every day, rain or shine, snow or sleet, etc. She has beautiful blue eyes and talks to anybody who will listen. She doesn't howl, but talks when people come in the house. She mostly lives outside but I feel sorry for her in the heat of summer and then she becomes a house dog. She is in her glory now with the cooler weather, so we can walk a bit more with the heat and humidity down. We got her from a rescue agency here in MN and she's been a fantastic dog every since she learned she's not the alpha female.
Took a whil-LOL. She's a great addition to our family and i'd have a lot more if I had room. She loves the dog park and daily walks - needs them or gets a bit hyper. We both enjoy the walks so I don't mind. Glad this board is here- nice to know there are other husky lovers out there.

Hi Royetta,
Boy, do I understand your problem. I have a chihuahua that I rescued a few months ago and she was doing fine when I first got her. Then about a month ago, she went into heat and started peeing and pooing any old place she wanted to. I would take her outside with my other 3 chihuahuas and she'd be out there for like a half hour, then come in and promptly squat and pee! Finally, after trying EVERYTHING, I decided, reluctantly, to get her a crate. All the experts say that is the best way to deal with house-breaking issues. Basically, you put them in their crate anytime you aren't going to be home, or even if you ARE home, but busy doing something, like working on comupter, etc. ANY time you are not directly interacting with the dog. Then you make certain you reward her everytime she goes outside. Mine has been doing MUCH better and the vet says she will probably be even better once she has her spaying surgery. If you do decide to try it, Walmart has a nice size crate for little dogs for around $30. They can by VERY expensive elsewhere. Good Luck!

Ok I have a four month old pom/yorkie mix, her name is Jezebel. I love her very much but I have gotten so sick of her going to the bathroom on the floor. I have tried spanking her and rubbing her nose in it. I also made this string with bells on it with a tennis ball on the end and hung it off of the door handle so when she goes out I ring the bell with her paw. Sometimes she will use it other times she won't. I NEED HELP! I am at my wits end.......Royetta

We bred our Patterdale Terrier with his girlfriend and he's going to be a daddy! Any other Patterdale owners out there?
Topic: RE: I JUST GOT A "PAPPY-POO"
Hi Sara,
Aren't little dogs great!!!!! (Big dogs are too!)
Do you have to get your little Angel groomed? Does she have any favorite toys? One of my boys doesn't play with toys (he was a rescue and never learned) and the other is OBSESSED with this treat ball that he's had since he was a pup.....we call it "THE PURPLE BALL".....
he is so funny that you can't even mention the word "purple" without him dashing around to get the ball....and of course, he demands that it be filled or he will bark like crazy.
My elderly mom tries to hide the ball from him, and he is really cute about waiting until she tells him to find it. Then he's off running and is so proud when he brings it back. The ball is pretty big and he has to carry it by putting his lower teeth on the opening....it's pretty hard plastic and he's dropped it on my foot a few times...OUCH! LOL

Oh well, maybe next year!
Let me know if you end up going!

Topic: RE: Any Siberian Husky lovers here?
HI guys, I too just found this part of the site. The love of my life is Dakota, my 5 yr old Huskita! (Husky & Akita) He looks like the biggest husky you ever saw (90 lbs, 3' at the shoulder). He's black & white with brown wolf-type eyes. I adopted him at two, and he has just taken to us soooo beautifully! He was raised in a day care home w/other dogs & is soooo good!
He loves the dog park (the Akita in him loves to tackle the other dogs, freaks their owners out but he's never hurt anybody!) Still independent & stubborn, tho, I can't let him off leash or he's GONE! I call my 4Runner my 'dog carrier' & have a license plate frame that says 'Happiness is Dakota in the Toyota'!!
He's such a mama's boy... and I've never had my own dog before! I feel such love for him, I don't know how to describe it. I'm sure you know!
Thanks for letting me gush about my baby! We don't have kids, so he gets all our love!
Hugs, Mell
Topic: RE: Schipperke Rescue!
Hi Rob...
Go to the Schipp Club of America site:
http://www.schipperkeclub-usa.org/
Scroll down to rescue and contact Mary Cox. She is the national coordinator and we work with her a lot. She's every good at responding. She can put you in touch with someone hopefully.
There's a breeder that I got one of my schipps from in Alabama. She has gorgeous schipps and occasionally has retired show dogs or pet qual for sale/adoption.
Her website is www.shalako.com
Tell her Kuba's mom sent ya.

Do you know if there is a Schip rescue in Texas? We have a female that is 17 and would like to consider adding another.
