Topic: RE: New Great Dane Puppy !
I have 2 great danes myself and boy are they possessive. The male, Maximoose, thinks that he owns me... and he trys to block my husband from touching me... (not in a rough way... he just pushes his nose in between us...) We tell him he is the "creamy filling"... he is a harlequin... Any idea how to direct the boy on how to aim for the correct location during breeding? He is always trying with our female, Delilah, she is a black/merle mix, but he is a bit backwards and keeps poking her in the eye or the ear... its quite funny but we will never have puppies if he doesn't figure it out... both our babies are 2 years old...

Topic: Any Siberian Husky lovers here?
I have been raising this magnificent breed for 16 years. Most people know them as the beautiful blue eyed "snow-dogs". While they certainly are beautiful, they are not the dog for everyone, and because of their intelligence, combined with a stubborn streak, they are often misunderstood and taken for "difficult" or stupid. I love talking about my 16 huskies, and would enjoy sharing my knowledge or just chatting to anyone else either considering a husky or who already has one (we could share husky stories!!!)

Hi! Yes! I love this breed... have been owned by them for 16 years! They are definately not the breed for everyone, though. And... they are very human like in their antics. I often say that you don't train a Siberian, you NEGOTIATE with them! Check out our site at www.heroshuskies.com Robin

First, I'm sorry this happened, and I'm gald that your dog is doing better. No, it isn't wrong for you to ask tehm to pay the bill.. they may have just been dog sitting, but they accepted responsibility for the dog and all that he does while in their care... and if they don't..then get the name of the 'owner' and go after them.

Topic: Lumpy Labs...
I've got one.. My Max is a huge Black Lab and the joy in my heart. He is a 117 lb "puppy" and turning 11 years old on Monday...and lumpy as you can get.. had all them tested and they're just fatty lumps... but he's feeling the aches and pains of being older... so I took him to the vet last night and one of the new "lumps" on my baby may be cancer... It is very different than the other lumps he has, and the vet said that it definately isn't a fatty lump... but needs to test it to see what it is... So we did that yesterday... I am sitting here at work today waiting and waiting for the Vet to call with the lab results.. and the later in the day it gets, the more worried I am that I'm getting bad news... He is my baby.. my son.. and I am trying very hard to keep good thoughts and that this is just a fatty lump too.. So any good thoughts and prayers would be appreciated!!

I am so tickled to hear from you Roshelle!!! I am sure I would LOVE your baby since my husband's name is Barry, LOL!!! Bailey is the smart one, she knows what you are talking about when you tell her things, and is so sweet in disposition. She is Momma's puppy and she knows what she can get away with, and tries as often as she can. Otherwise, she is pretty calm except when we get home, she commences to howling like she is scalded. Oh, that is the other thing, she is very adept at talking to us. It is a riot!! You can almost hear her saying "Daddy please don't tease me" or "please give me my toy back". My husband loves to torment the both of them, LOL, he steals their toys and hides them..... On the other hand, Boudreaux, he is the clown, both of mine are tri color, but my baby boy is a real MESS!! He is only 8 months old and is HUGE! By that I mean stocky and solid as a rock. Now he will chase his tail, then lay on this back and battle his toys. But he is the BIGGEST chicken and hides under Bailey if he gets scared, or jumps on my lap and climbs up me to my head. Bailey has tried to pull things off the table before but she got in trouble so she isn't about to try it again. Boudreaux also thinks he is FAST as lightening, and runs around the house at full speed, it cracks us up every time. He is not a barker, so when we babysat my Mom's schnauzer, Gabby, Bourdreaux would come very close to barking. See, he thought that Gabby (who is 11 years old) was his new best friend and he wanted her to chase him. When she ignored him, he puts his butt in the air and jumps around like a fool. I adore Beagles!!! If you have any pics of Barry send them to me, I would LOVE to see him!!! Keep the stories coming!! Vicki

They are responsible for paying the bills fully unless you were in the wrong some way (No leash on your dog) They should have a proper collar on the dog and should be held responsible. I had a labrador attack my beagle a few months ago and thank god the woman right away offered to pay. I agree, send them the bill, and if you don't get a response, then go to the next step. Roshelle

Topic: RE: Beagles
Ahh yes, I too have the beagle bug... My little monster's name is barry. Hes a old guy and a chocolate tri beagle. He looked so funny at first but now regular beagles look funny! I aquirred him from my grandparents. They are one of those people that expect dogs to be queit and always obediant, exactly the oppisit of a beagle. He's got epilepsy, not fun, but we're working with the vet on it! His favorite game besides snoring as loud as he can while sleeping is Can't catch me, funny as heck to watch that lol. This weekend we had a party with some freinds and there was a peice of duck on the table (One of his favorite foods) and needless to say he snuck right up there with all of us there... took 3 of us to pry the bones from his mouth and just give him the meat silly beagle... I just love the beagle personality. People say hounds are dumb, But I think hes too smart for his own good!!!! Do your beagles reverse chase there tail?? By that I mean on there back LOL. Its so funny to watch... maybe he's just weird.... Roshelle
