I just got a shih tzu/schnauzer mix. His name is Geppetto, and he's loveable, sweet, and very active. He's all black and I think he's just the cutest little thing ever. There are pictures of him on my profile.
I love the name Mijit!!!!!!

Hi Kim - I have a shih tzu - 6 year old Chucky! He is a black masked gold...his little 3 1/2 month old sister is a Great Dane!! I know, quite an odd mix for dogs, but like my kids, no 2 personalities are the same! Anyway Chucky was neutered when he was 6 months & Chloe - the Great Dane will be neutered @ 6 months...your baby Mijit will be fine. My breeder explained the breed best to me & it has stuck in my head...."your Shih Tzu will always be loyal to you...however, the breed LOVES to be loved...you could be gone tomorrow and they will be completely loyal to the next person they are with." In the past 6 years, I have watched Chucky, & she was completely accurate. He loves anyone around, yes if I am around...he is most loyal to me, however, if not....he is perfectly happy with whomever he is with! Don't worry about Mijit - she will be fine! -Joanne
Topic: RE: Any Pom lover/owners?
My first time here, but I have three Poms. Love them all. I found we had to remove all the rugs in the house. Now they seem to be going outside much better. Someday I hope I can put the rugs back down, but not for now. Funny how it is the smallest one is the one who causes the most trouble on the wetting problem. Ha ha. I just keep cleaning and putting her out and telling her to go. Someday....

Are there any shih tzu owners out there. I have one that is six months old. Her name is Mijit. (my children named her!) She is the sweetest thing. She loves everyone. I am taking her in next week to have her spayed. I am nervous. I will have to leave her overnite. She is like my third child. I am very close to her and her to me also. She hates being alone. She wants to be with people all the time. Anyway if there are any Shih Tzu lovers out there I would love to hear from you. Have a great day.

Topic: RE: Pugs!!
Hi Karen,
I have a beautiful 6 year old fawn pug named Angel. She is AWESOME!
I have been a pug lover since we got our first one in 1978. I have had one ever since. I also have an older rescue dog, she is not a pug she is an Affenpinshcer. She is cute and I love her but you can tell a big difference between the personality of a Pug and other breeds. Other than the shedding, I think Pugs make the perfect pet. They are smart, funny and loving. Write back and tell me about your pugs. Nice to see another pug person.

That's what I do too!
My chi is now 6 months old and she hardly wants her can food any more. She will eat some dry food when my daughter feed it to her by hand late at night. She's such a silly dog. Where we live, we have a hawk that's spotted her so we really have to keep an eye on her when she's outside. I like to keep her on a leash.

Topic: RE: NEW TO THE BOARD SMALL CRISIS
Hi everyone,
Along with my two papillons, we have a 14 lb chi who rules the house...so I agree that they have pretty dominant personalities.
I also have a rescued dog (the one with the white face) who had a lot of issues. Separation anxiety, housebreaking issues, etc.
When he first came to us, he would do a lot of resource guarding...toys, dog bed, food, people, etc. I would recommend a book called, Your Outta Control Adopted Dog by Eve Adamson...I think I found it at PetsMart. If you decide to go to a dog obedience, I would try to find one through your local animal shelter. They can refer you to someone more familar with rescued dogs. I took all of our dogs through classes with these folks....(www.animalsense.com) they might be able to refer you to someone closer to where you live. (they have a small dogs only class that was really helpful)
It sounds like Nina's reaction to the situation was to protect her "pack".
And it sounds like she is a very lucky dog to have found you and your family. Best of luck to you!

Hi Lisa,
"Pappy" Birthday to Malachi !!!
I think all of the pappies are beautiful...but I really think those black and white babies are the prettiest (don't tell my boyz though
)
It sounds like you have quite a menagerie at your house. I am guessing that one of the two little dogs rules the house?? Am I right?
Drop me an email...we can brag about our "kids".
Hope to hear from you!
