Topic: RE: :-) Frenchies or Bullmastiff Parents out there?
Cindy,
I have a 1/2 bull mastiff and 1/2 English bulldog. He is my baby, he is shorter (like his mama) but weights about 100 lbs, thinks he is a lap dog. He runs the house like his castle.

Topic: :-) Frenchies or Bullmastiff Parents out there?
Hi-
I am also new to this board. I have 4-"fur-kids", two french bulldogs and two bullmastiffs! The frenchies are the boss of the big dogs without a doubt!
I lost my 9 yr old bullmastiff girl "Nelly" to cancer in January.
I miss her terribly.
I am an avid dog-shower in conformation, obedience, agility, tracking, carting....I love to train my dogs! 8-l "Bull" breeds are not supposed to be smart or athletic....but if properly motivated they are BOTH!
I just recently got my denial letter from BC/BS IL and I am taking legal action. While I wait I am sure happy I have these sweethearts to hug and kiss my tears away. Dogs truly love you no matter what...don't care a bit that I am fat! When I have felt embarrassed of my weight, especially when I am showing, I look at thier faces which radiate love for me, and I feel accepted.
Don't know what I would do without these guys!

Topic: RE: Mastiffs
Hi-
I have 2 bullmastiffs (and 2 french bulldogs). I lost one of my bullmastiffs in January due to cancer (My sweet Nelly) and I miss her terribly. I think the bullmastiffs have a more "active" personality than the mastiffs, but I love Mastiffs too.
Here are the stats on my "fur-kids"
Brigid- 7.5 yr old bullmastiff female, red, spayed-a precious, sweet old girl!
Bea- 1 yr old showdog flunkie due to a bad bite, red, so she will start her agility and obedience career soon, in training now. We adore her, she is a nice dog, has taken over the "leader" position in our house!
Purcee-2 yr old frenchie, brindle, naughty, naughty little dog who thinks she is the boss of the world! Good thing my big dogs are nice to her, she is obnoxious, but sweet. She is a newly retired showdog, she was invited to Westminster this year and we went, lost, but had fun. She is also good in obedience (has her CD) and agility (has her NA, NAJ, and NAP titles)
Ziggy-8 mo brindle frenchie boy, trying to be a showdog but he might be too big...if so he'll be neutered and our little buddy dog.
I love to show dogs, however I rarely breed them....too hard to find good homes I think!

Puppies are soooooooo cute aren't they. I have 2 litters of mini schnauzer puppies three weeks old. The litters are 2 days apart. I'm just curious, how much do you get for your puppies. I live in the midwest so I don't get as much for mine if I lived on the east or west coast. Do you advertise on the internet? I've had good results doing that.

Something I noticed no one mentioned, be sure the momma breaks open the sack each puppy is in as soon as it is born. If momma doesn't do this you will have to because the puppy will suffocate if this sack isn't opened shortly after birth. Most mommas get this done, but sometimes they don't know what to do if it is their first litter. Momma usually chews the cord into but if she shouldn't you will also have to do that. Good Luck!!!
My two mini schnauzers had 4 puppies each two days apart three weeks ago.

Topic: RE: Any Pom lover/owners?
Hi,
I will be totally honest with you. Small dog training is hell and it has to be constant. And by constant I mean millitant lol. I do not think small dogs any breed* are ever 100% potty trained outside.
With Chai she sleeps in her crate, then outside, then breakfast then outside and is outside every two hours and I watch her like a hawk. The breeders I got her from with their puppies they put down rugs and sheets for the puppies to go on! This has lead to such problems for me as well.
When I am home Chai is kept in the kitchen with me and I put paper down she gets her food and water on a sced. so I know what goes in and out. I know the running around and wetting can drive the most patient of people insane. She only gets to run around when I am in that room and I know she's just gone.
I tried the dog litter box and followed it to the letter she just would not learn it.
I know its hard work but maybe if you set up a area just for your dog and stick to her potty training with both guns you can get there.
I know you love your dog sooo much and feel like your failing cause they just can't figure it out. Just keep trying and make rules for your dog and have everyone stick with them

I haven't had any teeth problems with her as of yet. But I do brush her teeth twice a week. Any tips you can give me on teeth issues?
Her hair is work I agree but I do it myself. I brush her out every night when I have time to watch tv and she pretty good with it. She is a smaller size Pom but I do her hair every week since she was 4months when I got her. I think when you got a long hair dog it is a huge commitment I agree it is work :D

I have a toy poodle puppy too! Her name is Gracey and she is jet black. I think she weighs around 6 lbs now and is just over 5 months old. She is so sweet!
We also have a 4 year old Beagle named Cali. She is awesome too!
We love our little furry kids!
