Hello! I am new to this board and just wanted to introduce myself. My name is Tammy and I have 3 cats (Mishka, Tigger and Beaumont) and 2 DOGS, a 12 yr old dachshund named Kelsey and a 3 yr old Pom/Chi mix named Blondie. I love them all to death and they are like my children! LOL Tammy

Hi Sonya! I know this reply is coming to u 3 months after your original post but I am new to this post. Anyways, I have a female doxie too and I have had her since she was 8 weeks old. She is now 12 years old. Boy does time fly! lol I love her to death, she is the BEST dog! I crate trained her and she did very well with that. Have u tried that? Let me know if you still need help. You can email me and I'll give u more info on how I crate trained her. But don't give up or get discouraged. Dachshunds are extremely smart dogs. They can be spiteful when they are mad at you though, just part of their charming personalities! I wouldn't trade my girl for the world! Good luck. Tammy

Topic: RE: I'm going to miss her.
Dear Cathy, I am so sorry to hear of your loss. Take comfort in knowing that Maggie is no longer suffering. She is not gone, your memories will keep her with you always. Don't beat yourself up over what you did or didn't do. You did the best you could for her and she loved you for it. You may want to check out this website: http://www.petloss.com/ It may help you with your grief and guilt. It has a lot of good information. If I can help in any way, please feel free to email me. A poem for you and Maggie: RAINBOW BRIDGE Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food and water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable. All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing: they miss someone very special to them; who had to be left behind. They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. The bright eyes are intent; the eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to break away from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster. YOU have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart. THEN YOU CROSS RAINBOW BRIDGE TOGETHER... (Author Unknown) Hugs, Tammy

Topic: RE: Any Pom lover/owners?
Hi Yankee Diva! I have a Pom mix (3 yrs old). She is 1/2 Pom and 1/2 Chihuahua. She is blonde and cute as a button! She has long hair and most of her features are Pom, although I can tell she has some Chihuahua traits too. One probem I have is housebreaking her. No matter what I do, I can't seem to break her of messing in the house. And she knows to go potty outside because she will go on command when I take her out. But she is so sneaky, she will go off to other rooms in the house and do her business but I know she is capable of holding it because whenever I crate her, she will not go in her crate. She will also pee on anything left on the floor like clothes, towels, throw rugs, etc. It is so frustrating! I am at my wits end with her doing this and hubby gets so mad he says we should get rid of her but I love her so much in spite of this behavior (she's so loveable and loves to cuddle!). Any suggestions?!? I have also tried using the puppy training pads and they worked for a while but then she stopped using them. She is a very smart girl, although she is very timid and shy. Tammy

Hi - I've had 5 Poms- one rare Chocolate, one wolf sable, and one jet black. Plus a bunch of puppies. I love them, but don't like their constant teeth problems and long hair!! Two Poms lived till they were 18 years old. Barb in CA

Topic: RE: Love my Bichons
Hi Paula, some friends of ours just got a Bishon and he is so lovable.. I have been thinking of getting a puppy latelt and Bishon's were on the top of my list.. Question ?? I was told that one of their traits was potty training, that sometimes they are hard to housebreak.. Do you know anything about that ?/ My friends are having a lot of trouble in that dept.,so it worries me for that reason.. They are such a loveable dog, they are so hard to resist..
