Topic: Great News!-a new puppie
Hi Friends,
DH purchased me a new puppie(poodle) and we named him-BJ. BJ is 3 months old and he weighs 4.7 pounds. BJ has filled the void in our life since Pea died last September. DH and I had decided not to get another little friend after Pea died, but BJ stole our heart. BJ stands for Baby Junior. I called Pea my Baby girl and BJ is a baby junior to baby girl 
I having to take BJ to the vet for a monthly 
because he is too big to bath at home. BJ is so fast that he keeps me 
after him. I will keep everyone posted on the new family member.

We have 2 - Ox is 2.5 (almost) and male - about 230 lbs.
Dakota is from MCOA rescue - about 6 - female and 189.5 (at last check).

Cathy, I am sorry for your loss..Maggie sounds like she was a wonderful friend..I love my dog and know I will be heart broken when her turn comes to leave me..Please do not be too hard on yourself..We all have regrets in life just remember the good times you had with Maggie..Hindsite is not a friend it's a destroyer of what is good..

My dog Maggie passed away today and I miss her so much.I had Maggie for three years. Maggie was a special dog. I spotted her in a ditch beside the road that I take to work. I believe to begin with she was waiting for her owner to come back. I fed Maggie for about three weeks before she trusted me enough to get in my car. She had surgery to remove a pellet lodged in her eye a gift from her other owner I guess. Maggie had a cough a few weeks ago and then it went away. I thought it was just from the change in the weather. Then night before last she was not breathing right. I took her to the vet yesterday morning. I prayed it was not heartworm, but after searching on the internet I was almost sure. And it was. Dr. Mauldin said it would be a couple days before he would know if she might make it. He was doing everything he could. But she died. I feel bad that I did not take her when she had the cough. I feel bad I did not have her on heartworm pills. I feel it was my fault. She was a good dog and I already miss her.

No you're not nuts. I have a 6 year old longhair minature dashund. He is the love in my life. No matter what kind of day I have had he's there for me and all he wants is my attention even if it is just for a little while. Enjoy your little one if he is attached to you as Jake is to me you have a truly one of a kind blessing. I have had many dogs in my life but there were only 2 that were very special to me. One was my 15 year old pomerian (Baby Girl) who I had just had to put down and the other one is Jake my 6 year old. You can love many dogs in your life but sometimes a special one comes along. Enjoy him and treasure him they are like our children, cannot be replaced and what you get back in return is worth more than gold, money or riches. Karen

Have you tried Royal Canin for Chihuahuas? I think petco sells it. you can get a free sample from their website (just google Royal Canin) so you don't waste money buying it before you know if your girl will like it. I got the free sample, and my chi just about scarfed it down without chewing he loved it so much.
