The dogs are doing so well! Chiquita had to learn that the cat is not to be trifled with though. She got swatted in the eye....made a trip to the vet this morning...two different kinds of eye meds. Oh well....live and learn....I hope. She is a very interesting little personality. Totally different temperament from the border collie.

Thanks for the info, I know they are short lived and $$$, but I love them soo much! As I said earlier I had one as a child that died, so now that I can afford another, I am looking to buy.

Hi Adrienne. Get in touch with the AKC and they will put you in contact with a reputable breeder. Please know before getting an english bulldog that they are Very very expensive. You are going to spend tons of money at the veterinarian since bulldogs have numerous health problems. and lastly.. bulldogs are shortlived they live about 8 years. Vivian

Hi, I'm new to the board, but I have been trying to find an English Bulldog breeder/dealer. I had one as a child and I have been in love them since. Does anyone know someone or have some suggestions.

In the winter of 1998 I took my two doxie boys to a new vet to get hem looked at, the tecnician said she had a female for sale named Elsie. She was just 10 months old and when I saw her I took her. she was very sweet and a couple months later low and behold she gave me a puppy. April 7 1998. I called the previous owner and she said that she had been with a 13 year old neutered chiuhau and there was no way she could be pregnant but I told her I have the puppy. Anyway I feel in love with her. I named her cookieface. I loved her so much and she loved me. We were unseperable. I can not tell you how much I love her.She slept with me she went to the store with me and when I worked she would wait by the door for me until I come home. A month ago she was biten by a big dog. Someone had put the big dog in my back yard and I didnt know it was there so when I let mybaby out it bite her. She suffered for 4 days before I had to have her put to sleep. I am still paying the vet bill. I miss her so much. I cry everytime i think of her. I know your pain and I hope some day it eases up a little. I wonder about finding another litlle girl but I dont think it would be the same. We had something special. Julie

Thanks Viv. This chihuahua is definitely mixed with something else. She weighed in at a healthy 12 pounds at the vet. If you ask me...from the attitude....she's got some terrier in her. Cute as a button. Thanks for sharing memories of your little pipsqueak. I had a beautiful calico female cat that has since crossed the bridge too. Miss her terribly....the new dog is approx her size...she weighed approx 11 pounds.

They are doing very well. Balto has taken this new dog on as part of "the herd". He is doing very well. I had them both out in the yard....the neighbor dog came up to the other side of the fence....Both of my dogs started barking....Balto pawed at Chiquita until she was on the other side of him.....so that he was between her and the neighbor dog...he is protecting her. very sweet....but then again...that is Balto's personality. Once he is over the intruder instinct....he is amazing. Love my dogs....and the kitty.

Topic: RE: Sheltie Mom Here
Shelties are beautiful little dogs.. I saved one from the pound once. Someone was bringing in a sheltie with three legs.. their son was "allergic"... Well, I took Cappy home.. cleaned him up (I'm a dog groomer) and adopted him out to a wonderful family. And, he got along fine with three legs.. Bless you and your shelties!!! Viv
