Woooo my Jack Russell was born just this past Saturday! His mom's name is Rosie!...lol..he should be joining our family at the end of December, as soon as he's weaned and he flies out to be with us! (he's on the other side of the country). I can't wait to have him here. Linda

Topic: Jack Russell's
I am the human mother to two Jack Russel terriers....Rosie and Trump. What a handful!! All considering they are pretty well behaved except when a furry little animal crosses their yard....possum,coon,cat,rat....they don't care, they just want to chase it. Sometimes they are reduced to just running after the Blue Herrons that light on our dock.

I have a Jack Russel / Chihuahua mix. She will be a year old on 12/07. What a cutie! It has taken almost a year for her to "get it" - they way things are. Jacks are independent, dominant, and stubborn. There were times that I really wanted to get rid of her but I persisted and she is quite a sweet little dog now. BUT you can NEVER turn your back on a Jack. They will get into anything and everything! My Gracie is a keeper though!

Miniature Pinchers are THE barkers of the dog world. The Kong toy might help... so might leaving on a tv or radio. They sell anti bark collars but i think they're cruel. Good luck Vivian

DON'T SEND HER PACKING JUST YET.. DON'T GIVE UP YET!! She's a baby.. You just have to show her that you are the boss. Don't take any guff from her and DON'T SHOW HER YOU'RE AFRAID OF HER.. She can smell your fear. Grab the little bugger by the back of the neck and shake GENTLY.... (That's what momma dogs do when their pups misbehave).. Also get a crate for her and give her a time out.. she'll understand that eventually. Also put your hand over her muzzle and give her a loud and FIRM NO!!!.. Hope this helps. Vivian

Hi. So glad to come across this site. If any of you have questions as far as grooming goes.. I'll be glad to answer. I have a 5 year old French Bulldog/Chihuahua whose name is Miranda..(She's the ugliest dog in the world.... kinda resembles Morty Feldman) But I love her crazy!!! I love all animals.. that's why I work with them. Vivian

Topic: RE: Auto Immune diagnosis?
Hi Savanah, I had a collie that was having problems with sensitivities to EVERYTHING! I had to begin feeding her hand prepared natural food. Her diagnoses was Horners Syndrome. There are a number of Auto-Immune diseases that can take a foothold in dogs. You probably need to ask your vet to be more specific as to what he/she means by auto-immune disease and ask questions. I really get upset with a vet that has an authoritarian demeanor...expecting the animals owner to stand on the word that he/she speaks! That is your pet and a member of your family and you have a right to know what the vet is thinking. If you get no resopnse, I would look into changing vets! Best wishes in treating this. Back to natural is often what a vet will not suggest. Check out altvetmed.com and http://www.dogomania.com Greer
