Topic: RE: Anyone out there with Siberian Huskies???
We just got a Siberian Husky puppy last week. Her name is Jasmine. She's so sweet. Kind of a big ox right now. She's 5 months old. She is bi-eyed. (one blue & one brown eye) Just like you said these dogs are so smart. It's only been a week & we already taught her how to sit & shake. It literally took like 10 minutes to teach her. OMG the muddy paws thing is awful already. She stays in a crate at night & she cries the whole time. The breeder we got her from didnt crate her at night so she's not used to it. I give her a Kong with peanut butter in it to pacify her at night. She was also with her parents until we took her home. She cried a lot the first day. She's a digger & a collector. She takes anything thats not nailed down out the back door. (including the TV remote!) She buries things once she gets enough out there. She also sleeps on her back with her legs spread out. She is so silly & we're so happy to have her.

Topic: Rosco, 5yr old Mini-Schnauzer needs home ASAP - DFW, TX
Our 5 year-old miniature schnauzer, Rosco, is in need of a new home ASAP. My husband and I are moving for our new jobs after a long period of unemployment. Sadly, we cannot take our dogs with us and we are seeking homes for them by October 1. We're heartbroken about losing our babies, but are hoping to find homes and families for Rosco and his brother (a rat terrier named Smokey). Rosco is a 5-year-old male miniature schnauzer, salt and pepper colored. He loves to play and loves to be outside. He's a lap dog, indeed, and gives you little kisses now and then. He loves to chase the ball and the bone and the frisbee, so he would do best in a home with people who would give him tons of opportunities to play. As a boy dog, he does mark a bit, but we've broken him of doing it in the house and he's not marked anything in the house in about 2 years. He does mark outside, which is pretty normal. He's not agressive with other dogs, but he has never been around cats, so I'm not sure how he'd do with that. He was crate trained as a puppy, and sleeps on his very own blanket at night. He likes kids, but would probably be best in a home with school-aged children or older, as he can be a bit of a barker when he is happy and excited. He is due for his yearly checkup and shots, my husband and I haven't been able to take him in (his last shots were May of 2003) as money has been VERY tight. He's very healthy, but has a mild case of what the vet says is doggie psoriasis - it's not being treated, persay, as it's not that bad. Rosco likes his hair short and he loves to go to the puppy spa. We are located in NE Fort Worth. If you'd be interested in meeting Rosco, please contact me. We have already contacted local rescues who have not been able to help. Oh - and here are a couple pics of Rosco >> http://the-amelia.com/rosco2.jpg and http://the-amelia.com/rosco1.jpg

Topic: Smokey 6yr old Toy Rat Terrier needs home ASAP in DFW, TX
Smokey is a 6 year old toy rat terrier. He enjoys basking in the sun, playing with his squeaky bone, and taking a nap right on top of you. He loves kids and other dogs, but has never met cats. He likes to be on your lap and loves it when you brush him - and he LOVES baths! Smokey is a neutered male and is in need of his 2004 shots (his last shots were in March of 2003). He'd make a great family pet and will return more love than you could ever give! His parents need to move on October 1 and cannot keep him or his brother, Rosco. They need loving homes ASAP! http://www.msknetworks.com/smoo/smoo1.jpg http://www.msknetworks.com/smoo/smoo3.jpg http://www.msknetworks.com/smoo/smoo4.jpg http://www.msknetworks.com/smoo/smooyawn.jpg

I am having an Open RNY on Nov. 10th ......I will miss my three mini dachshunds like crazy while I am away. We also call our dogs "the wieners"! We have a SH red female named Roxy, a SH black and tan named Deuce and the old gal, Winger, who is a SH dapple who only has three legs as the result of a birth defect. (Shhhh! We've never told her she is different!) I never thought I would like small dogs, but these guys have me and my family hooked. As a matter of fact, my husband and I bought a bigger bed to accomodate the three dogs and us! Bless their little hearts! Kathleen

Topic: RE: any shar-pei lovers out there
Hi, I have a mini blue male sharpei, I used to have a breeding pair named Jules and Indi. A fawn and black standard, I just love this breed! You have three right now! thats so cool! I imagine you have your hands full then. I'd love to hear more about your brood! I want another one, but I guess when God wants me to have one he will present me with one again. Same with this surgery. I wish every day, I could go ahead and do it. I guess I am making myself sick with wanting what I can't seem to have,.... another sharpei and weight loss surgery! Lol anyway, glad to see another shar pei lover out there! HAve a nice day! Ronda Marlene McKee

Topic: RE: New web site!
Hi ~ Thank you for answering my question. I just today checked my home e-mail and there was your help. Great! Coco's going in the house seems sporatic. Sometimes when I am home and sometimes when I am out. I may try a larger crate again though, that sh can see out of. Bambi is more dominant. She is very possesive of me and her territory. The two do tend to jump in front of eachother at the doggy door. Also, I forgot to mention, Max, my daughters 120lb. English Lab likes to lay on the patio where the doggy door is. Bambi is fine with Max, she intimidates him. Coco tries to play with him but come to think of it she may feel a bit intimidated. Coco seems somewhat skiddish, not much but a bit. Whenever Bambi or Max bark, Coco runs under the bed. She has not, as of yet found her bark. I will try the bed suggestiion. I think it is as difficult for me as for them, but if I put the blanket or blankets and beds near my bed, it may be easier for all of us. I'll let you know, how it goes when I get up the nerve to follow through. thank You again so very much for the much needed help. Who would think that a message board for WLS people would provide help with dog training. Have a really great weekend, ~ Jo Anne ~
