Doesn't look like I'll be getting the little devil that I fell in love with...I may have to wait till next summer to bring one home I am a little heartbroken over this...but I have no choice but to wait. Energetic is exactly what I'm looking for! My kids still have my Sheltie at their father's house...he's another *bounce off the wall* kind of dog, lol...he's 10 now and still as crazy as ever! Maybe I'll be lucky and be able to bring one home earlier than next year...I'll be keeping my fingers crossed .. This is the first time in my life that I am petless, and I'm finding it very difficult...seems strange...but there is an odd emptiness without a furbaby to care for. Take care... Linda

Sophie, I know that most breeders do not mate siblings. Too much chance of creating genetic defects. I would suggest you find someone with another mini poodle to breed your pup with. Your dog sounds cute! I like the mini breeds although I have a Jack Russell and a Havanese - small but not minis! Usually before going into season you will notice your dogs genitals get slightly swollen and darker in color. She may get moody as well (puppy PMS) or you may notice her spotting a little. Having grown up working in and around shelters I have never purchased a pet from a store. The 4 who live with me at present found me. One night while it was raining, we heard a meow at the front door we opened it and in walked Onyx. our black momma kitty. She walked right in and declared us hers. She was pregnant when we were adopted we found homes for her kids and had her fixed. Our second kitty T'nikko was one of her litter. He's my soul mate! My Kiera was the result of my being a dog trainer. I needed a demo dog who I could use in classes to teach others my techniques. She was an abused, scared but loveable akita-shepherd mix. She loves kids and dogs so it worked well for class. She's my bud! she goes everywhere with me. I have hearing loss and have trained her to be a service hearing dog. We came back from a trip out of country and I had just picked up Kiera from the hotel and stopped to get some water and a special treat when we both noticed a smallish dog being chased by 3 people through some pretty snarly looking traffic. After about 20 mins. she stopped looked at us and made a bee line for us. She hopped into my truck and sat in the passenger seat like, "ok, I'm done lets go home now." Kiera was a bit confused and the people chasing this dog were now approaching me asking if she was mine. I explained that no I only have the one. They were eyeing me like "yeah right" since she just hopped into the front of my truck. Well, none of them could take her and I couldnt leave her stranded on the street. So she came home. Morgan is now one of us.
