Wow! That's a lot of dogs! Your house sounds like fun. I have two dogs...Balto, an 8yr old Border Collie/Aussie mix and Max, a 5 yr old beagle. Oh....and I can't forget Buttons....the 8 yr old cat.

I agree about the intelligence. Balto is very smart. The herding instinct makes me laugh though. When we first brought Max home on Sunday night, Balto tried to kill him....the 5yr old overweight, slightly lame, beagle was a threat perhaps? Now he is part of the herd. Balto is keeping track of him. Too funny.

Thank you Kimberly. Aussies and border collies are the most intelligent dogs I've ever met! Balto must be really smart. Congrats on your new family member.

Topic: RE: Rotts -whats your view-? To me, really precious dogs!
My first great love was my first Rottie. Her name was Jade. She was my first baby. I miss her so badly. She was sweetest thing you ever saw. Everyone who met her loved her. Even people who were deadly afraid of all dogs. She never barked one day in her life. She loved everyone especailly kids. I missed her so much since she was killed by a speeding driver who ran her down on purpose doing 75 or more in a residental zone. I missed her so bad I named my first born son after her. She is still much loved and never will be forgotten.

I just bought a darling little shih tzu, they sure do have their own little personalities. I think they are just adorable.

Hello everyone. My name is Laurie and the absolute love of my life is my sweet baby Sheila. See my profile, she is there in the picture with me! Sheila is Aussie/Akita mix. She has been my furry child since she was 6 weeks old and could have fit in a shoebox. She is 12 years old now and 85 lbs and I am grateful for every day I have with her! Sheila's best friend is Blondie, our white lab who is also about 12 yrs old. I call them the two-headed dog because they are always together, hip to hip !

Topic: RE: sheltie attack
I have a large Border Collie/Aussie mix. He does the jumping into the lap thing too. He weighs about 60 pounds! However, after my surgery....he seemed to sense that there was a problem. He laid at my feet and kept the cats from jumping on me too. I have a feeling that your dog may do the same. Shelties/Border Collies are very intuitive that way. I like the idea of keeping a pillow in your lap.....just in case though
