I had talked to the weightloss center and they said that I could see the surgeon in the middle of Sept. and the Laparoscopic RNY is the one the surgeon does, so I have looked up and printed everything I could find out about it and I can't wait now I'm so happy.

Oh!
Sorry about that. I can be a little dense sometimes. I have not had my surgery yet, but I have opted for the laparoscopic RNY. It seems to be the "gold standard" of weight loss surgeries, and appears to be very effective with a low complication rate. I considered the lap band, but the weight loss is slower and averages less overall. Also, the band is made of silicone and my sister nearly died from her silicone breast implants because her immune system is such that her body rejected them. So I'm afraid of implanting any silicone into my body as I personally don't think it's safe for me given that my immune system is probably similar to my sister's. So that's why I chose the lap RNY.
Which surgery are you leaning toward?

I was talking about the surgerys, is the RNY the best ? I was just asking what everyone else thought about it .

I have a 6 year old male rottie, Sampson.. He is the love of my life. He weighs in at about 125 pounds, which is overweight for a rottie..Boy can he eat. He is the biggest baby in the whole world.. I really think it is how they are brought up. Rotties are very smart and if you teach them to be aggressive then they will grow to be aggressive, however, if you teach them to respect people and you give them lots of love and socialize them with people, they will turn out to be wonderful members of your family. And I feel that is true for any dog. I also have a 2 1/2 year old female siberian husky, Dalilah and a 1 year old male siberian husky, Cain. Cain is the one that we need to worry about, not my big boy...

Hi, I have 6 Chi's. Cherokee, Casey, Corey, Caleb, Joey & Jenny. Corey, Caleb, Joey & Jenny were rescues. I did have another one but my friend needed a furbaby and he went to live with her. I miss him much but I do have visiting privileges.

I have an 11-month-old chocolate labrador named Fudge. He is just the sweetest dog I have ever known! He sleeps with my DH & I every night, between us with his head on the pillow just like a human.

I think 99% of a dog's temperament is in how it is raised. I know a pit bull that is the sweetest dog ever! She is also a huge lap dog.

I'm so sorry for your loss. I have had pets my whole life and have lost many. Some were more special than others. But I loved and morned each and everyone. I know there are animals in heaven and my precious pets will be there to meet me. Not every one wants another pet after losing one, but I'm one that always wants another one right away. I still miss the lost one but the new helps awhole lot.
