What a cute profile... Becky, please don't be hard on yourself about your diet/exercise... Keep your chin up... I started in on the whole journey last July and am just now having surgery... March 30th is my date... I'm glad it's taken this much time... at first I was like you, I wanted it right away, but now I'm glad it didn't (God knows what he's doing) If you ever need someone to chat with please keep me in mind... I'm a great listener and I love to help encourage people... I've been on a 3 week full liquid diet and I've lost about 30 pounds, It's so encouraging... Today I had to start my clear liquid diet 2 days before surgery, and I think this is going to be my biggest challenge yet... oh and my profile just got some spucing too... it's soo nice... Thanks for your post and I look forward to hearing from you in the future... I'll be praying for you to have a swift and uneventful journey to the other side... Love always Lori Baby Lori My Whitney & VA My angeletts ~~> Whitney & VA (I have the best s ever!) 2 days and a wake up

Topic: RE: Maltese rescue?
Linda, Thanks I'll have to do that. I just hate for someone up North to come so far just to deliver a pet. I would love to have a maltese though. Another issue is the cost of having them deliver it to us. Will they charge extra for the travel? Well I will look into it and thanks for your help. Alicia

Try PetFinder.com. They have available rescue dogs from all over the US. There are alot of rescuers out there who go to great lengths to transport dogs to permanant homes. So contact a rescuer even if they aren't real close to you. Good Luck! Linda

Topic: RE: sheltie lover
You are not alone. I've had shelties for about 30 years and my current one is a doll. He is so beautiful and smart and has me completely wrapped around his little paw. Have to admit I spoil him so. He is my best friiend. He was a rescue dog so I don't have papers and I got him at age 7 about 4 years ago. We do the dog training classes but he is a little long in the fangs to do agility. I got approved pretty quick by kaiser but am anxiously (and I'm not kidding about the anxious part) waiting for my visit to surgeon etc.

Topic: Maltese rescue?
I live in the panhandle of FL and we have no Maltese rescue. I'm intreasted in adopting a maltese from someone but I can't find any local rescues who have them. I have always adopted my pets from a shelter. We have a black female lab (love her to death!) and we just recently lost our shelty (miss her terribley) and now we are looking to adopt a maltese. Why a maltese? I am looking for a lap dog who is good with kids and other animals in the house and who will travel well. Maltese is also hypoallagenic which when you have company or travel that is a good thing. Well if anyone has any information for a rescue of malteses I would be intreasted. Thank You, Alicia

Topic: RE: Dalmatian lover, in need of a puppy
Hi, I'am sorry to hear about your dog. This Feb 8th while on vacation our 14 yr old dog had to be put down. We were not home but talked about it on the phone with the person that was taking care of our place. They did everything they could for him. She even had a vet come out to our house 4 times before we all agreed that it was time. I so wanted to be with him when they did it but I did not want my girl to see him that way. They remember him meeting them half way down the drive way when they came home from school. I know the dogs are happy know. They are probably playing together. Good luck in your search. The right one will come your way.

Topic: RE: Luv My Basset Hound!
Hi, I'm Lori, and brand new to this board... I saw this post as soon as I logged on because my eyes always seem to find anything Basset related... I am a mom of 3 basset hounds and 1 cat... Our female is Daisy she's 4... Our oldest male is Duke (we got him from the OKC animal shelter about 5 years ago, I'm not sure how old he is)... and our brand new baby boy Buddy, he was born on Halloween 2003... Daisy is Red and White, Duke is Tri, and Buddy is Lemon and White... They are the best animals in the world... I haven't had any problems at all getting them trained... Well I've done my into... hope to see lots of Basset stuff on the board... Baby Lori My Whitney & VA My angeletts ~~> Whitney & VA (I have the best 's ever!) 12 days and a wake up
