EGD?

Nope, did that already- did everything, in fact, except this, because I was told they would do it before surgery... The only info that I have for my pre-op testing is that I'm to meet with Dr.Smith at 7:30, and then I'm to be at Kennestone at 1 for pre-admission testing (the EGD is the day before at 12)- I had actually thought, until Friday, that *that* would be part of the pre-admission testing, but apparently I was wrong... I'm going to call tomorrow anyways to make sure they have some paperwork they requested, so I'll ask Andrea what they have planned for me then, I suppose, and if I can drink water before the test (other wise that is going to suck stickets- 8 hours of driving, none of which I can drink or eat anything during? ick). I'm not even sure when (or how much) I'm supposed to pay the hospital, though I do know that I'm to pay Dr.Smith and Kip on Thursday. I was told that the hospital would call me with the payment info (but I do plan on asking about that tomorrow too, don't worry ). I'm trying to lose weight (though I wasn't really told to) before the surgery, but I've only got three weeks (less now)- and I didn't lose but three pounds in six months of supervised diet. I'm trying to lose at least double digits, but no guarantees about that either.. sigh... I'm weighing in tomorrow to see if my current plan of attack has done any good (I've only been on it since Tuesday, so I figure if it's going to do something it would have by now)- if not, I'll start something else a little more drastic. Yep, the verdict is nothing after 12pm Tuesday night. *sigh* That's going to make for a Loooong 12 hours, because I have to be awake the entire time (we're leaving for GA right after my husband gets off work at 10pm). Oh well, I'll make it work- I've done it before Brandi

Thanks Walter- I didn't figure it was that big of a deal. I've had one before, but it's been so long ago now, I don't remember it. They used an endoscopy, I'm told, to diagnose my duodenal ulcer when I was only a few years old- but then, this was told to me by my mother, who has both a penchant for remembering things screwy and didn't know what I was talking about till I described the proceedure to her, so who knows if that's really true? My hubby's the one I feel sorry for, really. I get to take a nap about noon, he'll have to wait til we get back to the hotel and checked in before he can have his (we'll be driving all night to get to GA on time for the proceedure at noon). I expect that neither of us will be interested in doing any site-seeing when we're done at the hospital. Brandi
