I never said that it's common for RNYers to gain back ALL of their weight. Only that it happens. I find it odd that you are accusing me of a statement I never made. I'm not mad, and I don't think you're being snarky, only that I think you've misread something there. Please reread my post. I also never said that DSers don't gain back weight.  But it's unheard of for a DSer to gain back ALL of their weight. And, unfortunately, it is seen with the RNY. In that respect, my use of the term "ALL" was very deliberate and appropriate and true. There are RNYers who gain back every single ounce of the weight that they originally lost. Never did I state that it was common, but yes, I meant it when I said that people should be aware that they can gain back ALL. And I'm not giving any more medical advice than the person who took it upon herself to pm Karen some personal advice based on her own assumptions of what Karen eats. At least my advice is to stick with what Karen's doctors have told her.

Yup, they can and often do gain back ALL with the RNY and THEN some.  Yes, they are so quick to attack and criticize those that the Rny fails because they, themselves, are afraid of failure.  Yes, the DS works better because the eating plan is more realistic to stick to long-term than the ridiculous demands of the WW or RNY plans.  You hit the nail on the head and struck a nerve with the frightened-of-regain gang.  Sorry, but the truth hurts.

BTW, I guess we are S.O.s cuz I am gay for YOUR mind!  hehe!

From your question do I ever reply with less than 2 sentences? Rarely. What's the point of saying something that is so unspecific that every single person reading could take it completely different? May as well not say anything at all. Also I could leave replies like "STFU c***" like others do but Im really not an angry person. If you choose to read or not read my posts in their entirety that is OK with me. Its always obvious when people dont. That's when the wild accusations start about my character. Reading my whole post would mean actually taking the time to think about my opinion versus yours and that interferes with mud slinging fun.  TO Dreamy since Im so vile she needed to block me ;) Ummm I dont know where you got the idea Karen was PMed with sage advice. Karen, as per usual, was trashing the RNY and singing praise of the DS on the RNY board. She was asked some very specific questions that she has already answered over and over again through many posts. People who are regaining get whatever help they need on the RNY board but no we dont lie to them. Volume alone doesnt stop people from losing weight post op, choices on the other hand do. Helping people post op RNY means helping them be compliant, period. No compliance means weight gain period! You dont like having the RNY? Get a revision BUT at least try to be compliant until then. Bleh... if you actually read a full post on occaision you might know what youre talking about when slamming other posters.. but that would cut into hearing your own voice I suppose

You still don't see what I was trying to get you to understand - you made NO distinction about it simply being a "possibility" - you made it a flat-out "if-then" thing.  There is a difference between implying that something is common, as you explain, and being possible. Precisely!  Regain of ALL weight is technically a possiblity with DS too - does it happen?  Is it common?  Nope.  Should every DS pre-op be warned about it?  Nope, because it isn't likely, though it's possible. Same scenario with RnY.  Every pre-op IS warned of re-gain scenarios - 99% of them are related to patient compliance.  The # of people *****gain 100% of their weight is minute in comparison to the total # of people who get the surgery - despite the common mantra tossed around this board to taunt people. Respectfully -
