OT: How do you pronounce "Duodenal"?

I say it like 2 - although I said it like 1 before I saw Dr. K and his staff who all pronounce it like 2 & I just conformed.  I think you are right in saying that both ways are correct. 

I say it like # 2. This reminds me of a Weird Al song about how much he loves his pancreas.

I think I say it more like #1, but after all this, I can't even seem to say it 'naturally' to find out!  I know the shrink I saw for my pre-op said it something like du WAD enal, and I thought that was too weird, so I think that's probably closer to #2, so that's not the one for me!  Maybe more like du wa denal???

My anatomy professor, who was very "old school", taught us to say it like #2. But then, he also said "Meedi-AST-in-um" rather than "Media-STY-num".
