I lost 5lbs overnight

A few days ago, for the first time, my scale went UP...2lbs.  It wasn't a big deal to me...I knew, as a woman, we all "bloat" from time to time.  I also got lightheaded a bit yesterday so I went to see my PCP as I was concerned about my blood pressure.  Well, it was totally normal.  But, my pulse was high at 130 (resting).  I've always had a rapid pulse (resting is usually 90-95) since I was very young and so does my 90lb mother, so this was no surprise.   During my exam, she said I had swelling in my legs/ankles.  Humm...they looked thinner than normal to me (guess I'm just used to seeing the fat that use to be there). So, I had to be put on a water pill to reduce the fluid which she also assumed was around my heart, causing the rapid pulse.  So, I took one last night before bed... Peed all night and woke up 5lbs lighter...yeah...5lbs of fluid.  Now, my BP is fine and my pulse is 85 resting. And, ironically, none of my pants fit any longer either.  Apparently, I had a lot of bloat in my belly too.  I never would have guessed that since my weight had been dropping and I was getting smaller. So, while I loved my DS before...now I'm REALLY loving this DS now!!!

Wow!  5 lbs overnight is not too shabby!  What kind of water pill?  OTC?

Woohoo!    thats great news!   I've been on water pills for a long time and my doc took me off of them after surgery .. I"m so bad I haven't even been watching my salt and I use to like crazy! Maybe I'll save it all up and when i reach my next stall I'll cut out all my salt and see how I do lmao

You know....I NEVER salt any of my food...not even when I'm cooking.  But, I do eat a lot of sodium-rich foods, like processed foods and/or fast foods.  I'm sure that was my down fall!

That is really great!  Not only the weight loss but just think how much healthier your body is as well.  Way to go on your fab weight loss all round. Carrie

It has been quite a life change but well worth every minute to be where I am at today!

I need to lose about 2 more pounds for a normal BMI .  I still seem to be slowly losing at over 2 yrs out...so may get there yet.

I wondered where those 2 extra pounds came from this morning -- thanks a LOT, Sylvia!  So glad that you were on top of what was causing health concerns though.  You have been a poster child for sensibly rocking your DS.
